We agreed terms with Tielemans and worked on it for a year but at the same time haven’t decided on him. Haven’t placed a bid.

They tried prioritizing on other moves thinking Tielemans was in the bag already and now they realized it may backfire with both Lisandro and Raphinha being hijacked.
In BBQ terms, Edu burned the other steaks so he’ll try to perfectly cook them medium rare next time.
I don’t see a reason not to go ahead with this one.
He’s cheap, even if not successful should have resale value, not much interest so wages should be reasonable, JUST DO IT!
We get him and a left back and it’s been a good summer. Ideally want to improve on LW or RW too but Martinelli and ESR aren’t the worst options, and would mean they both have more chance to develop.
Apart from that we’re a bit short at DM for covering Partey, but there’s a lack of good options out there for that position anyway. (Who’s this Torreira guy? Might be worth a punt 
)

This saga just makes no sense whatsoever.
We clearly need him in midfield and now that Raphinha and Martinez have fallen through we definitely have the cash for Tielemans.
Although if United are in for him then I’m sure Edu and Co. will immediately wilt and fail to make a bid.
We need someone of his profile, not necessarily him. Seems like we’re being a bit of a whore about it - we know we can have him, so we’re playing the field to see if someone better is around, if not we’ll let him come play with us.

Tielemans is not going anywhere. I don’t think he has that many suitors and the United links are probably agent talks.
There is no reason to drag this out. If we had solid interest in Tielemans, you’d have thought that we would have made a bid by now.
I rate the player, but not sure he fits in considering lego hairs obsession with Xhaka. I’d see it that Xhaka is sold, leaving Tielemans and Lokonga as the options in the eight. Partey and El Nenny are the options for the six and Odegaard and Vieira battle for the advanced position. I’d be less worried about the basic nature of El Nenny’ play if he had Youri next to him. Likewise, I’d have more faith in Lokonga with Partey pairing him.
25m for Tielemans with 10-15 for Xhaka would be brilliant business. Art-twat-a wouldn’t do it though.

- Arsenal has been working on it the past year
- Arteta is a big fan
- It looks like personal terms are sorted
- It’s all about finding an agreement with Leicester
- We’ve yet to make an offer but that could change as some other clubs(Man Utd ans Newcastle) have been lurking around
