Haha, fair play man, looking after a kid must fry your brain big time

WHAT A LOAD OF BOLLOCKS this website is.

I ordered a vintage wall shelf 10 days ago, placed the order as a guest because I always do.

It appears you cannot track your order unless you are a member though, so I am ok, will sign up then.

Nope, cannot really sign up, not through the website (any browser really), neither through their mobile app, just returns an error. You’d think shit happens, maybe I will just contact support but no no, you need to be registered in order to have the privilege of contacting support (if that even exists).

There’s an email support that apparently hasn’t been monitored for years because they moved to a ticketing system WHAT?!?!?

I’m fucking livid rn

12 hole crazy golf courses. What’s that all about at full price.
Still had a successful tour of the Torquay courses. 5 straight wins. Play a pretty mean wind mill to the disgust of the wife and daughter.

Why does it matter that Christmas stuff is in the shop? I know it annoys a lot of people, but I don’t really understand why?

It annoys me Personally because it cheapens the Xmas feel. It used to be so nice when Xmas was only in December, it made it feel special. Now people are putting stuff up as early as October and it loses that Xmas sparkle and just becomes ordinary, by the time Xmas does actually come round you can’t wait for it to finish.

As @BizzySignal said. Kills any sort of build up.

When was this? Even when I was a kid I remember my mum buying Christmas things and cards etc early. I think we hear/see more about Christmas being “early” now because of the internet and social media, but it’s been this way for a very long time. And every year people moan about it.

I’m betting she never bought anything a week after August bank holiday though.

Why are people liking this when they have no idea about my family? Weird.

You’d all be wrong. My mum was (and still is) very keen. We used to have a Christmas cupboard, and as soon as she could she’d buy stuff to go in it.

Buying things is different, because you can buy anything and say “I’ll give this to so and so for Xmas” but people putting up decorations from September/October is just ridiculous, shops promoting Xmas deals 2/3 months before is even more ridiculous. I don’t ever remember it being like this before. Lights and decorations never went up before December, not even the public park ones, and you sure as hell weren’t bombarded with advertisements and “deals” before then.

My mum is the same. She’s starts buying for Christmas in February

I wasn’t just talking about presents. If I was, then we can go back even further – my mum buys them all year round, lol. I was also talking about Christmas stuff in general. Food (that doesn’t go out of date quickly obviously), Christmas decorations and tat , cards, wrapping paper. That kind of stuff. She’ll buy it as soon as she sees it in the shop, if she hasn’t already stocked from the post-Christmas sales that is.

As for people putting up decorations, I haven’t seen that yet. All I’ve seen round my way is a few shelves in the supermarket selling boxes of chocolate and things like that. Not even seen Christmas cards yet. Usually things step up a gear after Halloween, and the first lit Christmas trees appear November time.

Honestly don’t see the big deal with shops getting ready for Christmas though. Seems to me a silly thing to care about. But I appreciate everyone is different :slightly_smiling_face:

Last year I didn’t even get the decorations out. If I can avoid doing so again this year I reckon I’m justified if binning the lot some time in 2021.

Love Christmas btw, just don’t think tinsel is remotely connected to it.

Shops wouldn’t continually do this if it didn’t work though. I’ve seen easter eggs on 1st Jan and there’s a seasonal holloween shop nearby that usually pops up towards the middle of August. Not seen them this year mind.

Should be a ban on Christmas items in shops until at least mid October, people can still buy presents early as you can buy them all year round, but who needs advent calendars/decorations/Christmas cards etc over 3 months early?
Can’t do anything with them then unless you’re an absolute psycho writing Christmas cards in August/September. (Apologies to any psychos here)

I agree as was said above, only seeing Christmas related items/decorations for a short time every year made it feel a lot more special.

It’s also a pressure put on people subliminally in September who have financial issues.
