Yeah, I think he has been fantastic. I mean, Iām slightly biased because I always liked him and think we should have kept him (or at the very least have sold him for more than a tub of twiglets).
In some of the Juventus games Iāve seen this season, he has been decisive. When we were told Petr Cech would earn us 15 points a season⦠well, thatās what Woj is doing for Juve.
Woj owes his improvement to the vastly superior quality in coaching he received at Roma and Juventus. He was never going to become top quality under Peyton.
He literally improved ten fold the season he joined Roma on loan. Even if I was skeptical about how long it would last - heās proven beyond any doubt that coaching at Arsenal waa a huge problem.
Sure, but trying to attribute it to coaching alone would be silly. Not disagreeing with your point at all, just that itās also pretty common that players improve along a rough trajectory and for GKs thatās the case too.
Heās developed into a top goalkeeper but that absolutely never happens here under the coaching staff we had at the time so the fee isnāt as criminal as it looks in hindsight.
We definitely could have gotten more but this was pre-mega inflation and way before Woj ever looked like heād be outright world class.
Itās not hindsight to me. I definitely remember saying the fee was way too low at the time. Though I did tend to rate him more highly than many other fans. I have a gift you see, I just know when a player has āitā. Hence why Iām not getting off the Bellerin train
