I think Aubas physical condition is comparable to the likes of CR7 and he’ll age similarly. He’s just an incredible athlete. I think he could play at a high level until he’s 34-35

Think with the signing of Pepe, Zaha’s link with us dies instantly. Not that teams in the past haven’t had two similar-ish wingers down the opposite flanks, but sounds unrealistic we’ll spend that much money on two wingers in one window when there are other areas that need looking at. Have a feeling he’ll move to either Bayern or Everton on deadline day.
I agree with your line of thinking tbh, Auba for all the positive talk he gets isn’t infallible. So far he hasn’t breached 20+ non penalty league goals for us, his big game production/performances have been terrible and his general play at times is an outright detriment to the side when the pace of the game is against him.
Laca is more well rounded and has a beta mentality, I assume he’d work better as CF with two direct wingers alongside him whilst he drops deeper to facilitate.
Honestly, I definitely wouldn’t extend either player at this point and would look to sell both from next summer especially if we secure CL football. In that event we’ll have the money and status to secure younger and better profile strikers.
I think we’re approaching Ozil levels of disaster giving wage increases and long term deals to players approaching 30 with good but questionable production.

Still, he’s only been here for a season and a half, it’s not like he has had three full seasons and failed to do it. A season and a half of Arsenal being pretty fucking shit as well and in those 49 game he has 32 goals and 9 assists, with 5 being penalties if you feel the need to add a caveat, which I don’t.
