Why, they just sold Hazard and Zaha is a top bracket replacement. I think people are underestimating Zaha
If Zaha is top bracket Arsenal shouldn’t think twice to pay up. I don’t think it’s an issue of the money not being available.

This smells so much like the vardy or suarez situation… we needed a striker, we went for the one that was to hard, almost impossible, to get in the first place, had the money for other options, and just ended up with no striker. Yeah, we got ozil after suarez, but yeah… The vardy situation is probably more similar.
We shouldn’t be so desperate about zaha. Imo he’s just way too expensive for what he offers, unless he can play on vintage ronaldinho level when he’s here.
There are other more available options.

If we have that 50-60M available atm, considering no one expected for that 40M offer to be accepted… I guess you could get ziyech or neres for that money.
Ziyech is a bit different, not so direct, but what’s imortant he proved his class on the highes possoble level. He’s a year younger too. Offers much more creativity, vision, while also a decent goalscorer, you can’t say zaha is better atm. He’s almost like a more direct, goalscoring ozil (when he was younger ofc).
Neres is much younger, still has a lot room to grow, while he’s already a great player. If you want that more direct type of winger he’s the guy.
If we have the money we shouldn’t be desperate about him. If we (the board, the manager) really wan’t him and rate him so high… then pay the fu%@%g money! (100M). …and stop embarassing yourself expecting him to force the move, paying half the price.

We could of easily got Vardy, we didn’t offer more money than Leicester and offered a shorter contract. Vardy’s agent engineered the move but we didn’t seduce him

That is why we shouldn’t go for Ziyech. He offers the same as Iwobi and Mkhitaryan. He might be (slighty) better but not to invest 30-50 million if ‘direct’ wingers are out there.
