Where are you going on holiday?

I would throw San Sebastian as an option

Basque region is beautiful and less crowded.

Not sure how June-July serves you but this was Basque in April

San Sebastian

Zumaia

There’s a real nice cliff point where you can this view. It looks close to water but it aint.

San Juan de Gaztelugatxe (House of dragon was shot here)

Ahh that’s a shame!!

Well I’d definitely consider Madrid - it’s a bit bigger and more metropolitan than Lisbon but that also has its upsides!

It’s a four man planning committee, so not juat my call, but I am pushing Madrid, which so far hasn’t been ruled out. Athens has also been suggested, which nobody is ruling out yet. So seems these are the two frontrunners.

I also threw Istanbul in as a rogue option haha, though I dunno how well suited that’d be. I figure tou could have a good piss up in the European half :joy:

Not loat on me that so far I’m suggesting places I’ve never been to but would like to

Istanbul is a great shout for a couple of guys who want to experience culture and history, but the pints are far and few between unfortunately.

My friends Tom, Jamie and I all went and it was fantastic seeing the Blue Mosque, The Hagia Sofia, and the old markets etc. It’s an incredibly impressive city but once you find somewhere that actually serves alcohol you tend to end up parking yourself there for hours because it is literally and figuratively quite far between places that serve alcohol.

Like we’d leave a place and then end up walking around for like an hour trying to find somewhere to get our next drinks, and we were definitely some of the only people out and about drunk at 2am on a Friday (literally).

Athens was fantastic stag do city when I went there on a stag in 2017 - the strip clubs are more like sex clubs and it’s a really grotty city. You can basically do whatever you want for a price. Food is great, drinks are cheap and the weather is good plus you can go see the acropolis etc which is just cool.

Definitely a good shout for a stag do, but it’s a lot grimier than Lisbon and definitely has a seedy underbelly to it than you can fall foul of if one of the boys decides to fuck around with a stripper or something (DO NOT BUY A DRINK FOR A STRIPPER - IT IS A TRAP, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Thankfully it wasn’t me that learnt that the hard way, although it did come out of the kitty lol).

Ok, well that’s a definite no :joy: We aren’t the ladsiest lads to have ever ladsed and like a bit of history and culture, but we definitely need easy access to alcohol etc

Yeah that was frustrating about Istanbul - and the fact that the traffic is SO bad that you can’t just hop from one area to the next.

Also check what I said about Athens. Can be a good shout depending on how loose and streetwise the group is.

Also @JakeyBoy - a little weekend getaway at a big house in like Norfolk or Sussex or something can be awesome as well.

15 of us rented a big house in Norfolk for a weekend for my mates stag and it was utter carnage in the best way. So much fun.

Ended up costing about the same as a stag abroad but it was awesome. You just stay more at the house and BYOB vibes etc. If someone has the mettle to get up and put some bacon and sausages in the oven etc. in the morning, that can be a real touch as well.

I actually suggested similar, we’re a party of 15 so I thought it could work well, but was swiftly overruled lol.

Was told that the expectation is a trip abroad, which I don’t rate as the modern default, but what I want isn’t the point I guess haha

Krakow, Gdansk, Gdynia are all very good destinations, the latter maybe a bit quieter but the other 2 :ok_hand: Cheap as fuck too!

I absolutely loved Budapest.

Anybody here been to Naples? What’s it like to get about without renting cars?

Been but only really for the football and then we fucked off to sorrento for the weekend as I mentioned before.

Naples isn’t huge so imagine you’d be fine getting around, I recall a fairly extensive metro system but didn’t actually use it as we got bussed to the game and back.

Train to pompei was easy enough, it goes all the way down the coast too so you can cover places outside of Naples comfortably.

Didn’t have the same feeling re: alcohol in Istanbul btw did just hit the pub crawls, so finding bars was not an issue  Great city but go with the Mrs instead, doesn’t feel like a stag city.

Did you go or are you planning to go?

Hi mate, glad you’ve come back after an absence, the perfect man to advise me lol

It’s a proposed stag do (not my stag, but my mate’s) location for March 26, and since I initially asked, it’s become the frontrunner as we’ve ruled out other locations for various reasons.

I suppose it depends on what you’re gonna do as Naples like the rest of Italy isn’t the best of places for pub crawls.
If you all like eating and culture it’s a fantastic place to be.
The only caution I would advise is if you are gonna be pissed at night avoid the Spanish quarter and La Sanita neighborhoods unless you’re very aware of your surroundings.

For a first time visitor the places I’d recommend would be the San Gennaro catacombs ,Ovo Castle, Piazza Del Plebiscito and the Real Teatro Di S.Carlo.

Oh and you can’t miss the shrine to Diego, and you’ll never have a better margarita pizza.
Don’t hire a car it’s exorbitantly expensive.

Whatever you do DO NOT wear a Juve or Milano football shirt!

Think the stags outfit just got confirmed :eyes:

We aren’t gonna be doing pub crawls as such, but we will of course want to get pissed on beer, which is presumably easily done? For what it’s worth, we aren’t typical British lads on holiday, we won’t get rowdy and misbehave, if that counts for anything. If we were then Naples wouldn’t even be on the list in the first place lol

He’s Finnish, so he’s wearing a full Russia kit :joy:

He’s only 28 he’s not finished
