Yeah that 2018 Europa SF 2nd leg would have been painful.
Really pleased you had a great time, and OMG what a fixture to chose to attend at the Emirates. I’ve been a season ticket holder for 12 years now, and the Real Madrid match was by far the best experience I’ve had at the Emirates. I will never forget it.
We arrived back yesterday from a week long cruise to the Norwegian Fjords. Pretty amazing place.
Stavanger
The Loen Skylift near Olden
Sjkolden (at the base of the worlds longest Fjord)
A random waterfall in Haugesund
Everywhere in New Zealand looks like this lol
What’s a good time to come?
Nice mate, spent a few days in Stavanger a couple of years back when Arsenal played a pre season with Viking, surprisingly quite a few Norwegian Gooners about and it’s a nice little town.
The West coast of Norway is such a stunning part of the world and have some incredible memories of the time I spent there.
Expensive though right?
Looks great Sham…who did you go with out of intetest?
He’s not joking, I was gonna say it reminded me a lot of New Zealand. You’re a bit spoiled over there with the scenery.
Good pics Sham
Hopefully get there someday. Don’t feel its worth the journey unless i could give it a month or more and really get to see the place properly.
I only bought one beer off the ship but it cost near a tenner and was only 400ml
The skylift was a 10 minute bus journey away and it takes about 4 minutes to go up and that cost 75 quid. Worth it though as who knows when i might get back.
Princess cruises on the Sky Princess. I recommend the ship and company.
Everywhere in Nepal too
I would say summer is best but for sights like those, winter is fine too. It can just be a bit dreary in winter at times. Note: its expensive as fuck here for basically everything.
These things are all within an hour or two of my house (I live in the city):
1 - Omanawa Falls (1 hour)
2 - Bridal Veil Falls (25 mins)
3 - Lake Taupo (1 hour)
4 - Tongariro Crossing (2 hours)
Oh dude
Wife has NZ as bucket list so gotta save up for 2026-27
Advice needed. My wife and I are faffing over our summer trip just at the worst time; the black hole between advance-booking savings and cheap last minute ones.
We’re thinking of having a midweek city trip somewhere close but warm and Valencia has come up as a good option.
Has anyone been to Valencia? Is it a good place for a relaxing stroll of a holiday with lots of beer and good food thrown in?
I like Valencia, very nice city when the sun is out and an easy city to stroll for 3-4 days. Probably beyond that not a load to do but good for a long weekend and the best paella I’ve had, so if you like it you’ll be full all trip. The aquarium area is cool, little bit out of the city (10 mins) but worth a visit and the beach is also 10-15 mins away.
Would choose Barcelona over it if we’re talking cities in Spain but Valencia and Madrid both good too.
Excellent, thank you. I loved Barcelona, even though it was winter, I don’t mind if there’s less to do as I want to spend at least one of those days on the beach. It actually sounds perfect and I’ve found a 4 night trip for 2 for £650 at a modern hotel near the seafront. Will definitely visit the aquarium area!
Valencia is great for a couple’s holiday, would recommend it highly. Great for wandering about and we had several really good meals too. Cracking aquarium too.
Edit: lol, didn’t see @Starboy bring up the aquarium too, I mentioned it as it was a genuine highlight of the trip for me.
Is it better than the aquarium in Barcelona?
Never been to the aquarium in any of my visits to Barcelona, but I have heard that Valencia’s is the largest in Europe and like top 5 or 10 globally, not that size is synonymous with quality.
Thanks guys, all booked!
I’m really looking forward to this. Spain, the Med, Spanish food and beer, hot sunshine, aquarium and a nearby beach. It seems perfect.
fucking hotel prices these days.
When did spain get so expensive.
