Where are you going on holiday?

2010 and 2013 the last times I’ve seen Arsenal play ( not counting the 2017 pre season tour of Sydney )

I was due and thought this would be a great time to do it :grinning:.

Booked onto our first cruise for the end of July, a foot in the water 5-nighter to see if we like it as a family. Stopping in Hamburg and Rotterdam before returning to Southampton.

The good thing about Hamburg is, it has that brilliant Miniatur Welt model village on steroids, which I’d otherwise doubt I’d go to see.

Then having 10 days in the sun with our neighbours a few weeks after that. I stomach Benidorm so I can go to the model car shop by the beach, but it’s about an hour away from where we stay.

Nice one. Did something similar last year but a three day one instead and am now just a month away from a week long one up the Fjords which we are really looking forward to.

Is it with MSC?

Went there last year and really enjoyed it. Good area to walk round near the opera house too, Hamburg in the summer is a beautiful city. You might not want anymore boat rides but a little trip down the river is also nice and cost next to nothing from what I remember (Mrs lives there but we’ve not done it in a while).

Hamburger dom will also be open in St. Pauli but prepare the wallet if your kids are young. Not a fan of the Fritz cola personally but maybe they will like it

This one is with Royal Caribbean on Independence of the Seas. Looked well suited to entertaining a restless 12 year old.

Just back from a week in Cyprus, mad finding out their summers reach high 40s!
Low 20s was perfectly good for us, that and the all inclusive part

Back to work tomorrow is going to hit like a tonne of bricks following my birthday today :joy:

Grrrr. Plan was to have my first holiday in 9 years somewhere hot in Europe this year.
Wife’s gone back to her old job and I told her to lie and say we had booked something for the first two weeks of September before she accepted the role. She didn’t and now we’re left with the scraps on the holiday calendar.

“August is free” she said, showing the naivety of someone who’s never booked or paid for a holiday.

Might look at the Caribbean in early 2026 instead. My psychiatrist doesn’t think I’m ready for long-distance travel but hopefully I will be next year.

Ahh man rookie error - that’s so frustrating.

I’m telling every company I’m interviewing with that my 17 days in September are a non-negotiable as it’s my honeymoon that’s been booked for almost a year haha

Nice little weekend away to Lanzarote mid November, with my two best mates.

I think we have a plan, a week just across the Channel in the French countryside near Arras. I’ve heard good things about the area, no need for airports, hire cars, early morning starts, lugging suitcases about. We’ll pootle down there at our pace via a stop at friends on the East Sussex coast.

A cheap trip away now means we can still have a proper holiday early in 2026. And I miss France so much.

Not a bad spot to have some breakfast earlier this morning.

Nice stadium Atletico’s.

The Kingston heat is different! Went to Uptown Mondays last night and my 39 year old self is feeling it this morning (well it’s nearly midday now).

New Kingston is really developed. Should know better really, but shocked to see a Porsche dealership.

One thing I don’t love about Jamaica is the speed of things however. Spent nearly two hours in the bank yesterday trying to PAY MONEY IN!

Hated it in the away end (huge net, high up and we lost) but the stadium was modern and it does look nice in the home part!

What a beautiful evening in Stockholm @oompa ! Only my first night walking around as arrived so late last night but already confirmed added to the ‘I could live here’ list, although it is bloody expensive :exploding_head:

Walked around a lot near the royal palace and it’s really stunning, reminds me a lot of innsbruck round there…just much bigger.

Few photos below

Last one being the big birthday treat for the Mrs tomorrow. Front row in the flying horse for Arsenal in the Bernabeu!

Also must say I was very disappointed when I arrived at an establishment called ‘Lagerhaus’ only to find it full of candles
