What was the last film you watched?

“You done shot me in the ass!”

:joy:

Had to google that… watched it one and the only time over 10 years ago. Denzel’a acting there is absolutely out of this world.

Training Day is very good fun, very watchable, I’ve seen it several times and enjoyed it on each occasion. But that’s what it is, a fun, cool af movie, it isn’t by any stretch great. Ludicrous Denzel won the best actor Oscar for his scenery chewing performance. Another one where the academy gives someone a clearly undeserved Oscar to make up for them not getting one they deserved in a previous year.

Re-watched this on the iPlayer, it’s so good.

Ready Player One

I absolutely loved it, my kids have had it for ages and only now have I watched it :man_facepalming::man_facepalming:

The reference that I loved the most was Krull. Growing up that film was my jam, I’ve lost count how many times I’ve watched it.

I liked it too!

It caught a lot of flack from boom readers but I enjoyed both the book and the movie.

I feel like it hits most of the major parts of the book spot on, and the special effects and set pieces of the film were just incredible.

Not exactly Oscar bait but I thought it was a fun and well executed movie.

About to give it a watch

City Hall anyone? I’m tempted to give it a watch as I can’t sleep, just seen Pacino’s speech in that, so fucking good.

Watched While at War last night. About the Spanish civil war/rise of Franco and Unamuno by Amenábar (director who did abre los ojos, the film that was then remade shit in English as vanilla sky).

I loved it but then I’m bound to love any tribute to Unamuno. Finest writer in the Spanish language since Cervantes and in the rest of the world he’s barely known, and far more limited writers like Garcia Marquez far eclipse his fame :expressionless:

Close encounters of the third kind.

What a load of shite that was. 2/10.

If I could dislike that post, I would! :stuck_out_tongue:

Extra Ordinary. One of the most Irish films I’ve ever seen. Absolutely loved it.

I think my problem was I watched it sober.

Abstinence makes the heart grow older.
