Be interested to hear what you think. I see it getting a much warmer reception than last year’s from fans online and it’s reviews seem pretty positive.

I saw a brief trailer and thought it looked brilliantly mental. Was already likely to watch it but definitely will now.

I really liked the first two ‘28’ films. I think the first is a modern day classic and actually remember it being filmed in London (at my local Budgens supermarket!). Not got round to watching 28 years later and thought the sequel looks very good, so definitely going to check this out.

My only comment, as a huge fan of Zombie films, is that the ‘28’ films are not zombie films…so while the films still fit the genre, and although I like them, as a purist, you cannot put them alongside classics like Night of the Living Dead or Dawn of the Dead for this reason.

Time to give this a watch

Well, not to give too much away, but in these two films and the one that’s just come out especially, they do lean into them being infected, living people rather than zombies.

Even so, it’s very creative and I really did not know what way it was going, especially leading up to the final scenes which were very memorable. They do make pretty sparing use of the infected themselves, but I think that’s a good move because they still retain a fair bit of their aura from the first film even though this is now four movies into the franchise.

Dead Man’s Shoes.

Absolute fucking banger and available on youtube too.

One of the great British films of the 21st century, maybe the best.

Paddy Considine is amazing. As is Toby Kebbell, who I think often doesn’t get the praise he deserves cos everyone is so focused on Paddy.

The RIP - the new Matt Damon and Ben Affleck film on Netflix.

1/10. I guessed the plot within 5 minutes and it plays out exactly as you expect. Becoming concerned that this is a sign of things to come. Not that there are many good new films anymore, but the average quality continues to drop and can’t see Netflix, Amazon, Disney and Apple helping with this trend.

Yeah, I wasn’t impressed either.

I thought there were quite a few good films last year.
Don’t think The Rip was expected to be some fantastic film.

The whole PR for it was “please watch it, it supports our crew”. That was the biggest red flag.

Rental Family

Lovely little film with Brendan Fraser, recommended!

Finally got round to watching Django Unchained. Incredible film. The acting throughout was top tier. Solid 9/10.

Ooh I saw this while flicking through what to watch and didn’t press play. I will take you up on that recommendation now!

28 Years Later. Fantastic movie, and does all the comic booky aspects of zombie/infected horror much better than the likes of AMC TWD, and TLOU. I really hope there’s a lot more to come with this IP.

But for folks that have seen the movie, what do you make of the use of Everything in its Right Place? 26 Years Later?

I’m so averse to Radiohead I had to google that to work out what you were asking.

I preferred the inclusion of Duran Duran and Iron Maiden myself :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

What was the scene that played in? Was it the ”I don’t have a ticket” bit?

Just got back in from this.

I liked that the zombies where more in the background in this one and actually gave the characters in the film to breath and flesh out their characters.

Rapth finness was great in this he looked like he had fun filming this especially that iron maiden scene.

Now the zombie This text will be blurredhaving psychosis and being treated for it was a interesting angle and the fact we have jimmy and Samson suffering from various levels off mental illness was a interesting idea to bring to the film. This text will be blurred

Be interesting to see where they take this IP going forward hopefully won’t be a long wait till the next one.

Watched it this week, you’re absolutely right. 16 Oscar nominations is excessive lol

I thought it was good and I enjoyed it but it was basically just from Dusk til Dawn reskinned.

Not exactly groundbreaking stuff but worth a watch
