What was the last film you watched?

An eclectic trio of Beverly Hills Cop III, Ronin and Bad Grampa yesterday whilst working.

That’s a very random selection of films! I like Ronin. Not seen it for a long time though.

F1 - The Movie

Quite good of you are new to F1. Not as enjoyable of you are an F1 fan.

It is a good movie for me. I watched it last week.

Simple storyline, not too many characters…

I compare this to Stallone’s Driven but F1 is in a much bigger scale.

Weapons. 4/10. This film lies.

A very slow build up as we get a little bit more of the same story with each different character’s perspective, eg Pulp Fiction, Vantage Point or even Memento. Tired predictable jump scares. Seems to promise more chaos towards the end but never happens. By the time it gets to the final character all suspense and tension is gone as we already know what’s happened. It suddenly arrives at the finale which are some of the funniest scenes I’ve seen in a while, and I wasn’t the only one laughing out loud so I think this is intentional. You will be mostly bored and very disappointed.

Safe to say the movie is a bit of a weapon then…..

Watched it last night, and I was very entertained.

Anyone on Letterboxd?

Loved trakt.tv but it seems that’s never captured the public like Letterboxd. I heard they’re adding TV shows finally.

Really intrigued watching those interviews where they ask celebrities to name their four favourites.
Got me questioning my four favourites.
I landed on:

  • One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
  • Cloverfield
  • Spider-Man
  • Scream

What’s your four favourites?

Would this be like desert island which 4 films would u take?

You could choose them with that in mind. Up to you really.

Tough one this :pires2:

No Jason Voorhees?

Vader. Easily.

Of course, a Gaston vs Caledon Hockley matchup is the game everyone wants to see - simply brimming with toxic masculinity, but sadly neither of them performed in the qualifying round.

I mean if its a face off each round. Magneto would destroy everyone

Finally watched this last night. Bit on the silly side but I enjoyed it for what it is. Probably wouldn’t watch it again though.

Fuck me, an 8 year old review  I had to jump back to see which Matt Damon film I was talking about.

I completely forgot about this film.

Probably easily done :pires2:

Babygirl.

I was curious to see if Kidman could deliver a performance as good as Eyes Wide Shut. All in all Babygirl is very tame and doesn’t live up to it’s marketing. The only memorable scene was her drinking milk from a saucer on the floor, but ultimately George Galloway was more convincing in Celebrity Big Brother.

Good film

Just watched Gladiator II. Really promising start and excellent acting. Kind of rushed at the end though. They kind of dropped the ball with this one.

5/10

Really irks me how the story does a complete 180 on the subject empire and Tyranny with Hanno completely forgetting about his dead wife and pretty much adopts a completely Roman identity.I had to roll my eyes at the patriotic schtick about Rome being some bastion of equality and democracy. Real American overtones.Denzel was fantastic as always. Really carried the entire movie. His character should have been portrayed as someone who was able to really punch the empire in the mouth. Not sure how historically accurate that would be but I doubt the movie was historically accurate to begin with.
