What was the last film you watched?

It’s a little thing called taste my good man. :top_hat:

(Even zoomed in that looks nothing like a top hat)

Out of interest, why do you like it so much? The fact it was a complete flop or the bad acting and plot, or that it deviated significantly from the original Japanese Godzilla concept? Or do you have a soft spot for Matthew Broderick :grinning:

Just watched ‘Once Were Warriors’. It’s a New Zealand film from the 90s and a pretty harrowing watch. If you have a chance to watch it, I’d highly recommend it.

Well we’ve found out why you don’t like it then

It really is a crap film.

Loved it as a kid but not watched it since

Had some free time this weekend so caught up on a few films I’ve been meaning to watch from the past few years.

Deadpool vs Wolverine
Midsommar
Saltburn
The Menu

I’d rank them:

  1. Midsommar
  2. The Menu
  3. Saltburn
  4. Deadpool vs Wolverine

Enjoyed all of them, feels like time well spent.

I thought Midsommer was fantastic. An underrated movie.

Ari Aster has a new movie coming out soon. Eddington. Looks interesting.

My Midsommer Yuletide tree topper:

I need to watch Midsommar still. I absolutely loved Saltburn. The Menu was very good. That’s some impressive watching for a long weekend!

Sinners.

A good watch.

Tomorrow, I’ll be able to say this was the last film I saw. Going to an arts centre in Colchester which will be full of hairy stoners of a certain generation.

It was fun, but it’s definitely overrated.

Heat - first time re-watching this for some years, De Niro is the GOAT.

Fargo - Watched the TV series but never had the time to watch the OG film. So many good characters throughout, Buscemi doing ‘Buscemi’ things is classic and I just love ‘Margie’s’ “oh yeah” moments. Such an endearing quality to it.

Heat is one of my all time favourite films. A true masterpiece and at the time was the only film where Al Pacino and De Niro acted alongside each other. This is a must watch for anyone who hasn’t seen it. Great score too!

The scene that @Mr_Nostalgia posted above proceeds one of the all time great scenes in film.

I Shall Not Hate (2025)

“From Gaza’s Jabaliya refugee camp, to the University of Toronto and the Supreme Court of Israel, I Shall Not Hate follows the uncharted path of Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish, The first Palestinian doctor that worked in an Israeli hospital delivering babies, whose ethos of forgiveness and reconciliation is put to the ultimate test when an Israeli tank bombs his house, killing his three daughters. Against all odds, he turns his tragedy into a global campaign to eradicate hate.”

Cena movie. Great premise, brilliant execution. Watch it.

Electric State.

Really wasn’t expecting much from this one but it’s a very solid film. Worth a watch.
