What was the last film you watched?

I have watched Alien and the sequel Aliens these past two weekends. I think the last time I watched these films was when I was a kid!

Flipping awesome and nothing quite like them.

Watched Deadpool and Wolverine last night. Very good. The song choices were top notch :joy:

Now Inside Out may well be a kids film but its very good. I think the first one was on one Christmas and I watched it so had to watch the second one :joy:

Alien is my favourite film of all time, and Aliens is a fantastic sequel. The others are worth watching too. Alien3 could have been a masterpiece, but for the studio interference. If you do watch it, watch the Assembly Cut of the film, rather than the Theatrical Cut.

Not seen the new one yet…has had some very mixed reviews!

All of Us Strangers - 8/10

Really good drama about someone dealing with grief. Pretty hard hitting and relatable. Would recommend.

Speak no Evil (2022)

Fckin hell

5/10

Saw this is the cinema at the weekend after listening to a podcast about the real Lee Miller:

It was really excellent. Kate Winslet and Andy Samburg really smashed it. I gather the film was pretty much Winslet’s project and that comes through in her performance. Clearly a lot of reverence for the subject matter.

It’s pretty good. The last act is a bit mental though

But don’t listen to reviews. The amount of times I’ve been told a film is shit, and then I’ve watched it and wondered if I was watching the same film, because I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it.

Watched Megalopolis last night.

Still not sure if it’s the work of a genius and I just don’t get it, or it’s the shittiest and most self indulgent film I’ve ever seen.

Same, sad that a human can experience that at such a young age.

Gladiator 2. Was very good. Feels a bit like your watching the same plot as the first for a while, but they do enough as it goes on to make it different.

Thought the ending was a little cheesy but overall an enjoyable film.

Hail Dondas!

Moana 2 with the little girl today. A worthy successor, although the music in the original still reigns supreme. The story was a nice combination of the original with enough new elements to keep it fresh. Definitely worth the watch for those of you with kids to entertain :grinning:

The Gentleman.

Not Guy Ritchie’s best effort. Has anyone watched the TV show based on it?

TV show is brilliant one of the best new shows of the year for me
