What are you watching?

Yeah great book that one.

I get to see it directly at Rovers. I’m sure some people will think I’m talking shit but the game is just more pure at this level. It doesn’t mean anything less to the men in the field and the skill level is clearly much much less but it’s still football, still enjoyable. The ball hitting the net for Rovers doesn’t mean anything less than it does for Arsenal.

Also, fuck Bohs.

I suppose you feel more involved with the club and I guess you get to see them play?
Growing up in Kerry proper football wasn’t really a thing. I actually started with Arsenal because of our holy trinity of Brady, O’Leary and Stapleton

Maurice Fitz, Paidi O’Se, Mick O’Dwyer, Bomber Liston, jumpers for goalposts. Marvelous.

Gary O’Neill, current Rover alumni is the first Kerryman to be part of a LOI winning team I believe.

Definitely get to feel more involved, I was a member for a few years and likely will be again in the future.

Hawkeye.

Never got into the MCU but I seen this on Disney plus and looked good from the trailer. So I waited till I could binge watch it as fuck the one episode a week nonsense.

Finished it tonight and I thought it was excellent

Shame its only 6 episodes :joy:

Not got round to it yet as I’ve always found Hawkeye to be one of the dullest superhero characters, he’s just so meh.

I’d probably be giving it a go if I hadn’t found Falcon and the Winter Soldier to be a bit of a letdown, but after that I can’t be arsed watching another series about a fairly boring superhero if it’s likely gonna be average.

I’ve not seen him in the films will probably watch the avengers ones over Christmas as something to do tbf lol but I found it really good. Give it a try. Its as much as about Kate Bishop played by Hailee Stienfeld () as it is him

The Avengers films are good man. I mean, they’re blockbuster good, just a bit of fun, and not a waste of your time. Have you seen any of the MCU films?

Never got into them really tbh. I’ve seen the odd superhero film in the cinema if I was asked to go but that’s it.

Now I have plus I may have to watch the avengers at least seeing as the last one plays a part in spiderman 2 and hawkeye haha

I know you’re going slate me for being a contrarian hipster bitch, but I thought he was really important to the franchise. The franchise lived and died by Whedon’s first Avenger film, and Hawkeye going evil in that played a massive part. His little cameo in the first Thor was also really cool in my book.

What the Marvelverse is now compared to back then in its infancy I suppose doesn’t matter. I’m probably the biggest advocate in the world that thinks it’s all watered down piss at this point.

Hawkeye was alright and I think JR done well.

Haha, nah, fair. Hawkeye is pretty important to the films, I won’t deny that. It’s just that I personally find him to be rather boring. Not much in the way of wit or charisma imo. Just seems like a pretty bland dude who’s good at shooting stuff.

Willing to accept this is an unfair assessment but can’t help the way I feel lol.

I won’t lie though, even I felt bad for him when after several films of not doing a great deal post Avengers Assemble, he got a starring role in Endgame and they gave him that fuckin haircut haha

Unfortunately for Renner in Hawkeye series everytime I seen him do some action stunt all I could think of was the film tag.

What are your thoughts on Oliver Queen?

I’m with you. Hawkeye was always one of my favourite avengers, like you said I thought he was integral in all of the avengers movies and held his own for a guy without any actual super powers.

Just finished the last episode of Dopesick. It’s all about the opioid epidemic and heavily focused on Perdue Pharma and Oxycontin.

These things are always somewhat dramatised and told from a certain angle but it’s not like we don’t know who the bad guys were in this to begin with.

I think it was an incredibly well made show with a great cast and real gut punches thrown throughout. 8 eps and a one off series. Definitely recommend it.
