Sounds right up my street, will give this a watch at the weekend - cheers!
I just gotta say that someone on here recommended Ted Lasso as a good programme to watch, its about an American football coach coming to England to manage a premiership team…Now, I always find that football programmes, especially the fictional kind, are always pretty rubbish…However, so far, I really cannot praise this show highly enough…The humour is pretty good, and the actual interactions between the coach and the players, is really, really good…Well worth a watch in my opinion, and thank you to whoever recommended it…Really enjoying it.
I thought that was just a funny commercial at the time, didn’t think they’d make a series out of it, have to check it out now.
Watching eat well for less on BBC1. Mental how my first thought when they go in the supermarket was this was filmed back in the day when you could go in without a fucking mask
F’ckin 'ell.
Cobra Kai
What a finish. Can’t wait til season 3. I’ll probably rewatch seasons 1 and 2 beforehand
I do this with everything I watch now. “They’re not social distancing!” And then I remember it was filmed pre pandemic.
Though apparently EastEnders are getting round it by using Perspex screens, so if they have a kissing scene, both parties will kiss the screen
I lost a bit of interest when it became another teen highschool drama. Does it get better?
I read they are using their actual real life partners as body doubles aswell for the more intimate scenes shall we say
Yeah the teen high school stuff is, unfortunately, always there but because of their links to the main two protagonists, it gets complicated.
The karate sequences are great. You can tell they’re using stunt doubles sometimes but what the kids do as well as Johnny/Daniel is awe-inspiring
The Spurs doc on Amazon Prime.
Really not enjoying it, nothing but a fucking Spurs love in making them seem like some huge global phenomenon.
Fucking ridiculous.
Still on the first episode though.
Well said. Cunts.
It’s not even a Spurs love in. It’s just a Mourinho love in. It’s the Mourinho show. Poch, supposed to be their best manager ever, got about 3 seconds.
Only just got to the bit where he gets sacked, but I’m well up for Prime doing a documentary on us now.
They’d make us look like the best team in the history of football with 4 FA Cups in 6 years and Morgan Freeman verbally sucking us off as the narrator.
your welcome
On to season 2 of the Boys now.
Favourite scene has to be Starlight pulling the extensions out of her hair
My partner just straight up cancelled Netflix because they released a trailer for a film called Cuties. The entire trailer was just close ups of little girls touching themselves whilst dancing and zooming in for close ups.
Madness from Netflix what the hell.
Watching season 2 of the boys at the moment and its quality Homelander is played by the perfect actor, such a good casting decision.
Second series of The Sinner.
Watching This is Us on Prime
As I understand it, the intention of the female film maker was to critique the hypersexualisation of young girls and is in part inspired by her own experiences growing up in France, but it doesn’t sound like Netflix has done her any favours (or maybe she didn’t do her job well), because people now think that her film does the exact opposite and is in parts not far off child porn (this is what I’ve seen people say, I’ve not seen the film so make no judgements either way on how dodgy the film may be)
All that I have seen is the Netflix poster, which is pretty gross, and this seems to have really added fuel to the fire. I’ve seen the original French poster and it isn’t at all provocative. Seems Netflix made a conscious decision to take a different approach.
Feels like this would have been an arthouse film that passed by without much widespread attention beyond winning awards at Sundance etc but the marketing bods at Netflix had other ideas. But they’ve really fucked it as people are mad af.
I probably won’t watch it cos nothing about it sounds like my idea of a good time, whether the director is right about her film or whether the outraged people online are right, either way, not for me, Clive.
