What are you watching?

I’ve already watched it like 3 times since it came out. Honestly it’s one of my favourite shows off all time which is mad because the bad superhero dynamic is getting clichéd and worn out. The Boys is something else though, there’s no pretense it’s just amazing entertaining TV of the highest order.

I can’t wait for handsome Dean Winchester to come to season 3.

What shows/films are you thinking of here?

Just all of them really, even though I enjoy them it’s a dynamic that’s been beaten to absolute death the last few years. While none are entirely a like they’re all just slight tilts on the regular comic book hero.

Watchmen, Watchmen’s TV show, The Punisher, Deadpool, The Umbrella Academy, The Boys, Doom Patrol. Constantine in the CW Arrowveerse, Lucifer in the CW world. Legends of Tomorrow in the Arrowveerse. And we’ve got Constantine coming in the Justice League Dark which will be like amazing. That shit Will Smith one where if he got too close to Charlize Theron he would die or some shit. I’m sure I’m forgetting some that’s just off the top of my head.

I think what makes the Boys stand out though is they make the villains hero’s and the hero’s villains with literally no fucks given. All the others I’ve mentioned - apart from Watchmen - are essentially stories where an anti hero essentially does heroic stuff.

Watchmen, Umbrella Academy, Doom Patrol–all well done shows but along the same theme. Suicide Squad (not a show I know) is complete and utter garbage water.

Anyone watching Soccer Aid? Who the hell is Chunkz? No way is he gonna be able to play for long.

England losing on penalties again never gets tiring. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

What do you expect when we let bloody Chunkz take a penalty?! I’d have done better!

What a bad penalty that was.

I think RotW had better takers some of them pens were superb haha.

Lee Mack missing again aswell you could see he was devastated :joy::joy:

It’s really good but Billy Butcher is just so one-note I get tired of him. That’s my only real knock on the show. First three episodes of S2 were amazing.

Raised by Wolves (HBO)—the first 2 episodes were incredible. If you like science fiction you’ll like this show.

Been thinking bout watching this but so much garbage sci fi out there these days. If this is the real deal I’ll give it a go.

The two Escobars.

Bit late too getting around to watching this, but if anybody else hasn’t I’d highly recommend this.
Crazy world of Pablo and the Colombian cartels and how their money found it’s way into football.
Andrea’s whose own goal in world cup 94 ended in his death.
Set in all that was crazily Colombia back in the day.
You have no way of just being able too watch this through your own sense of morality at times either. Such is the diversity of south American life.
Anyone interested it’s on iplayer for a few months yet anyway.
@will24 could be one for you if not already watched.

Probably my favorite soccer documentary ESPN produced.

This is so fucking good man. Opening ep was a little slow and generic then my boy Ragnar from Vikings turns up and everything goes fucking crazy.

Absolutely my type of sci fi so far, great recommendation.

How are you guys watched Raised By Wolves?

Is Vikings any good? See ads for it constantly, I love history and a few of cast are quite good looking, I do love tattoos despite being terrified of needles, so it ticks a lot of boxes.

As with every show ever in the history of mankind, season 3 and after really starts to let you down, but season 1 and 2 were just amazing.

Such gripping television.

I loved Vikings, I need to watch the last season or so as I’ve found it a little tedious towards the end but honestly the first few seasons were some of the best TV around. It was definitely unfortunate to be running alongside GoTs but in many ways I found it better than the fantasy based world.

Ugh I feel you. Lost went off the rails big time after s3. Hated that ending.

I trust OA on matters of taste, will give it a shot.

That’s my attitude toward sci-fi. It’s often a way for networks to distract from crappy writing and acting with a bunch of special effects.

Raised by Wolves and The Expanse are all around great shows.
