Three US service members have been killed in action, the US Central Command (Centcom) says. They are the first known American fatalities since the US began striking Iran on Saturday.
Five others have been “seriously wounded”, the US military says. The names of the three fallen service members will not be released until 24 hours after their families have been notified, Centcom adds.
In announcing the US operation against Iran, President Trump warned that “the lives of American heroes may be lost, and we may have casualties. That often happens in war”.
I feel Trump has walked into a scenario he can’t win.
Iran is showing they have the capacity to hit back, there’s no hint of surrender or a popular uprising.
An unbelievable miscalculation on his end. I think he thought they’d wipe Iran out without realising they are very well prepared for long term conflict.
