This seems ego-driven. I know there’s a Israel angle (Who have their own agenda) but I don’t think it’s all about that. He wants a legacy. This war is personal glory. The same way he goes on about ending “eight wars”. I think he wants to actually “win” one.
Of course if he can’t win it, he’ll make up something and try sell it as such.

I think it’s probably a good idea to play the short game with Trump. Weight problems, mini strokes, heart issues, skin cancer and dementia hint at a downward spiral that will gather pace.
When someone ages quickly like he has, it’s a sign there’s all manner of health issues. So I don’t blame politicans who are waiting with the expectation that he may not be a problem in a year. Though the Republicans who’ll follow him are just as crazy but in different ways with less gravitas.
Who has less gravitas than Trump?!!
