I am pretty sure there was no proper diplomatic process behind the claim and it was always fragile to minor incidents.

One of Trump’s biggest tendencies it to try to manifest his own reality. He decides something is true that he wants to be true and then does everything possible to try to make the world believe its true.
The interesting thing here is that he clearly very very very much wants it to be true that his big beautiful bombs destroyed Iran’s ability to make a nuclear weapon…and that’s just very unlikely to be the case.
Israel will know this. They’ll understand that Iran likely still has all the necessary components and knowledge to get to a bomb within a matter of months. They likely still have all their 60% enriched uranium, a new enrichment facility that didn’t get bombed, tons of extra centrifuges and the knowledge to install/build them again, and going from 60% to 90% or weapons grade enrichment is relatively easy and hardly takes many centrifuges anyway. But Israel is probably stuck now because to convince Trump that his big beautiful bombs actually didn’t do much in the big picture to set back the nuclear program will mean convincing him to give up on his preferred reality.
