Good turnout across the US for the No Kings protests.
Though I fear something will happen that allows Trump to say they were all paid by the Democrats to start violence and trigger the insurrection act. He will not be happy that more people turned out to the protests than his masturbatory dictator military parade.
Still hoping for thunderstorms near DC that gets the display cancelled but not looking likely right now.

Really curious as to how MSM will narrate this, but there’s no way I’m gonna be wasting my time watching this Riefenstahl bollocks on my Father’s Day weekend.
Interesting to see so much opposition to the parade. Is it purely because Trump is president and there a perception celebrating the Army’s 250th birthday isn’t necessary? Or is the issue Trump is milking it?
Similar displays like at bastille day, Fleet week or trooping the colours don’t tend to attract opposition or N.Korean comparisons
There is definitely anti-monarchy protests in the UK. It just doesn’t hit the news.
I think this a mix of the usual polarised media, polarised society and Trump being very controversial and polarising character himself.
My personal opinion, military parades are uninteresting and a waste of time.

Military parades to celebrate a presidential birthday have never been a thing over here.
Given the context of the political atmosphere this is obviously more akin to a North Korean show of military prowess with tanks, TANKS FOR GODSAKE, rolling down Pennsylvania Avenue and not some innocuous parade to celebrate military service people.
This is Trumps way of showing he can summon the might of the US Armed forces to maintain his power.

Apparently, it was something he really wanted to do in his first term but the adults in the room talked him out of it. Those adults now hate him and he’s totally surrounded now by yes men (and women).

Just watched about a minute of the tanks rolling. Just looks weird
