The weather

Doesn’t surprise me and despite a disappointing end to summer we’re also running 1.5oC warmer than average for 2025, though the last week of the year may threaten that.

I assume you’ll have the Christmas barbecue tomorrow then. It’s looking relatively toasty until Friday.

Yes, she blew through here today dumping 28cm of snow. Highways were just a mess. A 100-vehicle pileup just north of Calgary. Luckily, we didn’t need to be out today.

Sound like the sort of day big indoor fireplaces are made for.

I’m going to be in full stews, fireplace, watching DVDs mode when our “cold” (2 to 4oC) spell hits next week.

For the UK.
This week: Mostly dry and feeling cold.
Weekend and beyond: Colder with snow.

The forecasts are all over the place as to where will get snow at this stage but it could affect our games against Liverpool (H) and Portsmouth (A).

It’ll depend more on potential travel disruption rather than a frozen pitch these days.

Watching the news earlier and that snow storm that looks like its hit nearly all of America is absolutely nuts

I’m in New Brunswick right now and that ‘storm’ moved through here this past 36 hours. Nonstop snowfall, but only amounted to about 15cm. It’s not really cold, either (about -9) so it’s not causing any problems. We’re getting about alright.

I love that sunrise/sunset time is starting to speed up, somehow my cats still know it’s time to start bothering me for dinner at 5pm.

Unfortunately due to “season lag” the UK’s average temperature won’t reach October levels for another 10 weeks.

Talking of UK weather. A bit milder with spells of wet and windy weather, chance of a colder spell towards the end of next week with snow possible but then back to milder, wet and windy conditions into the second half of Feb.

Unseasonably mild here too, Wiv. Plenty of sunshine, that’s normal, but a high of +10 today. That’s not normal.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time in the lakes the last 3 months.

Whenever I seem to head home to Somerset the weather follows and amdnvice versa, sob have basically had 3 months of frigging rain :sob:
