You don’t even need to buy every edition either to enjoy, some of them are very hit and miss anyway. You’ll find some editions just click and you just sink the hours away you didn’t know you had.
(This is me saying FM13 fucking sucked).

My son likes Football Manager and has even won the Prem and CL with Eastleigh but when I tried it, it felt like I was doing work so gave up after an hour.
Maybe now I’m mostly retired I should try it again to see if it’s more fun. I usually play a game called Twilight Struggle online in the winter evenings if I want to stretch this senile brain of mine.
Yeah football manager is dangerously addictive lol, already logged like 600 hours in this most recent one
Came to a difficult realization today. We’ve always known that Arsenal are a very dumb club, but there’s a difference between just being a dirt pounder, and actually purposely not attempting to win. I honestly think this club don’t give a shit about winning.
It’s hard for me to watch the moves this inept club make and see how that will to win just isn’t present. It’s such a loser culture from top to bottom.
Going to do what I usually do and go into the season optimistic, don’t have anything to back this optimism but feel like we going to have a good season and finish 4th. Think White will end up being a solid piece of business for us, Leeds mate been messaging me all day again to tell me what a beast he is, think their will probably be one more marque signing in the pipe works.
Hoping we start how we finished last season and come out guns blazing.
COYFG
Kolasinac back.
Partey as our only decent CM.
One creative midfielder in the whole squad, who isn’t good enough to start let alone take the #10
Still have shitters like Mari and Willian
Washed strikers who can’t score more than 15 goals
…
This season is looking bleak as fuck
Bright side is that it hopefully means a new coach by Christmas. Maybe even sooner?
I always want the team to succeed but it already looks pretty bad. Squad is somehow too big and too thin at the same time.
The club has bigger issues than the manager. Can’t buy and sell for shit. Owners don’t have a clue. Edu probably can’t even spell his name.
We may not be good at it but we still do it.
We can buy, but it usually means paying too much or just activating a release clause.
We can sell, but lately it’s meant just paying guys to leave.
I realize that’s not all on Edu but if this was the summer to really show us what he’s got as a top tier executive, it’s pretty underwhelming.
Why are we spending time chasing Locatelli who never had any interest in joining? Why are we wasting time on Ramsdale? Why does the club seem unfazed at Chambers starting at right back for a whole season? What’s been done to improve the coaching staff? Why is the GK coach, who Leno apparently dislikes, being allowed to dictate transfer strategy? It’s just all a bit of a mess. We were told that we had to wait until the end of the window to see the full plan but we’re two weeks out from our first game and the squad, quite frankly, looks like shit.
Glad I saw us win the league in 2002 and 2004 as despite having 47 years or so years of life expectancy left I don’t think I’ll be seeing it again .
Good for u how did it feel? I’ve never seen Arsenal win the league.
Btw Aussie, Arsenal are a lot closer to winning the league than u think. It really is just a matter of getting the right person in at the club that’s going to have the positive influence Wenger brought all those years ago. We have the resources to do it. Think about all the money we’ve wasted.
It was awesome and I loved it. Probably didn’t appreciate it enough though still being in high school and relatively new to the sport though. Our team was that good I think I just expected to keep seeing title wins at regular intervals.
Normally, people tend to read too much into the results of pre-season games, both positive and negative, but this isn’t one of those times. All of our problems from last season are still there. Prone to lapses of concentration at the back, 0 creativity from the midfield and strikers who don’t score many goals. The highline of defense might be something Arteta is experimenting with so I won’t talk about that.
3 glaringly obvious (CF, CAM and RB) areas that need improvement before the season starts are far from getting addressed. With Partey being out for a few weeks most likely, we’ll be starting the season with Elneny and Xhaka in the middle, with Cedric/Bellerin at the right. That’s a fucking depressing thought.
Then there is this playing out from the back shit. We simply don’t have the players to do it, neither do we have a plan. Leno doesn’t fill me with any confidence with the ball at his feet. His judgement too is poor and he often puts unnecessary pressure on the defense. Just passing it back and forth a few times and hoofing it forward is not playing out from the back.
But I think our biggest issue this season will be scoring goals. Laca and Auba will probably get 25 goals between them. I can see Pepe score a few, and maybe a few from the defense but that’s it. That just won’t be enough.
Worried for this season. With or without Lautaro.
Definitely seen the same issues in these pre season friendlies that I’ve seen from most of Arteta’s time here. He’s not improving this squad at all imo.
We’re a mess right now with no signs of improvement. We’re given Xhaka a new contract and pay rise, come on is this ambition. Same old faces are here still and the signings haven’t got me excited at all. I hope they do well but they seem to be more squad players besides White then first teamers. Arteta is still conning his way through interviews and our silly fanbase are still eating it all up.
I still stand by that under this ownership that no matter who they bring in we’ll never reach the top heights of George Graham or Wenger early years again. Arsenal are going to see worse times soon enough.
Why can’t we have players this passionate???
With Australian betting agencies Arsenal are paying
$51 to win the title
$5.50 to finish in the top 4
$2.35 to finish top 6.
The fact that you can more than double your money for us finishing a measly top 6 is a sad state of affairs.
That top 6 bet is really sad, but it’s still throwing away your money…We have NO chance of top 6…Sad Indeed.
I will never forget that game honestly. Such incredible passion. It also doesn’t help that there are very few rivalries like this left in the game.
