The State of The Arsenal

It’s a bad sign tbh. We had huge issues last year with injuries and it’s continued into this year. Suggests something more systemic and unlikely to just resolve by itself.

Bar Odegaard, our midfielders have been more or less fine, same for our backline and goalies.

Attack is the one sticking out. Mind you, Havertz and Jesus are injuries practically carried from last season.
You could argue that this is down to the excessive effort our forwards apply off the ball

I think the fact that we hope to have Gyokeres and Martinelli back after the international break may indicate that neither are serious.
Likely that we want to give them the extra recovery period.

A lot of the current injuries have carried over from last season - whilst I agree we do seem to get too many, I am not sure it is systemic

More and more of these but funny

Saka, Martinelli, Havertz, Odegaard, Madueke, Gyokeres all picking up injuries in the first 10 games, coming of the previous season where it was all of our attackers getting injured as well…. I dont know to quote Jakey, it feels spooky.

Don’t worry everyone. It’s just bad luck.

Thanks fuck we have Merino who can CF

So we’re fielding Trossard and Merino against Sunderland?

Yep. Same as tonight.

No one can truly know or course and it’s a complete suggestion but what if our defensive prowess this season/in general is a contributing factor to these types of muscle injuries? We have a unit that defends from front to back and the guys that defend upfront are likely doing a lot more recovery runs than the CB’s.

I recognise that other teams likely have the same amount of injuries at the moment. It just feels sad after we were battered with them last season - can we not be afforded the rub of the green on good health this season, please?

Currently we have estimated returns of 23/11 for

Martinelli

Gyokores

Madueke

Havertz

Odegaard

Be interesting to see how many of the 5 are available for Spurs.

I think I read somewhere they’re all due back for Spurs. Let’s hope and pray!

Top of the Prem, Top of the Champions League, league. You have to be happy with that.

We have enough to get past Sunderland. It will be great to have a fully fit squad again and the end of the month seems plausible.

I hope we have enough against Sunderland. They have been so good so far and deserve to be where they are in the table. Getting 3 points with City and Liverpool, or both, dropping points, would be epic. Maximum points from the CL too! What a time to be an Arsenal fan!

Just going through my Snapchat memories to find something (not to worry not going through Drake O Clock hours) and I found this gem:

Man we been through it, Wenger smiling through pain. LOL.

It’s going to take a long time for me to appreciate Wenger again properly. Those last 10 years were brutal despite the FA Cups.

He had his flaws, but the club hid behind him and used him as a shield for their own incompetence also.

Nobody made Wenger use Eboue as a forward, Bendtner as a wide man, not want to pay a bit for Xavi Alonso, turn down Cesc, bench Santi. The list goes on.
