Odegaard likely not fully fit and was rushed back, back line has been inconsistent and missing Whites overlapping runs. Merino not fully working…
Injuries, red cards and not fully firing, but not this total doom n gloom

All that hard work would mean nothing if we created better chances.
Our chance creation was down to our own inability.
Totally giving up on this season… Feeling good actually. :martinelli: Feeling relaxed.
I agree, Trossard is a very good squad player but Martinelli is a regular starter who doesn’t seem to have gone up to the next level and as for Jesus, he’s gone down a level.
This season is a write off, after a couple of seasons where we’ve been genuine title contenders, but if we don’t strengthen upfront in the next window then this stagnation will continue.
Saying that, this is not a Wenger situation where stubbornness and complacency ruled, Arteta is far more ruthless and I’m sure he can see the glaring weaknesses in our attack so will make the signings, as well as the tactical changes we need.
I believe this squad can play some good football, but we cannot be so obsessed about shutting out opponents.
We got found out, and need to be more aggressive on the attack.
I just don’t understand why it has to be so structured all the time. Why does it have to be endless passing patterns why can’t we just see a little more fluidity and interchanging of player positions.
Even at one point I remember us having one absolutely perfect moment to break away and counter and Saka (I think) just held the ball for and waited for players to get back into position.
We have an awful approach to attacking games at the moment and it’s clearly not working.
I’d love to two foot this guy.
Any fan of the club trying to put a positive spin on that shower of shit performance is delusional.
Really have gone backwards. You cant even compare what we are doing right now to how we were going at the same stage last season. Its not at that level even.
We’d need a half of a season like the second half of last or the first of the one before. We’re not city, so hard yo see it.
This guy has to be joking or he’s on some hard drugs/medication, or he’s payed to post that.
I pretty much gave up at that point. Fucking wanted to claw my eyes out.
All of these cunts, the pro and anti club twitter clown cunts and everyone in between can all get to fuck.

Unless something goes horribly wrong, I am against getting into any situation that would break the footballing stability of this club.
There are a lot of managerial gems popping up but the managerial market is still poor and you won’t get a manager who could be seen as someone that can guarantee success.
I doubt we can find managers who could even replicate Arteta’s work so far.
Arteta is not incapable of learning. He may be rigid but he is still young and growing as a manager. He showed last season that when the players are available, he can make the football work.
We have not had key players throughout this season. Odegaard, Rice, Calafiori, White are key losses and every manager would struggle with such absences.
Look at Pep unable to cope without Ruben Dias & Rodri.
Any talks of “Arteta isn’t the man” should be laughed away at this moment. It’s just highly bizarre and entitled.
It’s fine to be frustrated at our season without taking an extreme stance.
The “draw a game → sell everyone and oust the manager” is just heat of the moment passion to me
we’re passionate fans, the frustration should be there, no?
Most of the players are back now though and what’s different?
And the thing is football is highly cyclical considering what Arteta has now devolved to be as a coach the window to win the PL under him turn out to have been last season.
He showed he can make it work to an extent when it was us and City going for the title, but when Liverpool are getting back to challenging ways, Chelsea emerging etc, will it still work?
If this season does end in Liverpool winning the league and us finishing below Chelsea or even City for example and no major silverware then it’s perfectly reasonable to question the direction and future of this team under his tenure. He has regressed as a coach and the team is the same. What we’re witnessing is the formation of an unsustainable approach and identity and he has no solutions.
Just because he has put commendable work to restore the team back to respectable ways doesn’t mean he should be given forever, that is what would be entitled. He has more than enough talent to produce better and more varied football than we’re seeing.
Not happy with where we’re at at all given how badly faltering Man City have been.
You look at the second half of last season I think we’re tired and out of idea, I think the team gave so much to push Man City the end of last season it’s now showing the effects.
I don’t see it in us and I’ve believed this from the beginning of this season. We cannot win a trophy with out attacking play the way it is, yes we have games we dominate but this season they are very few and far between.
We need some fresh ideas and a different approach, you can tell with this team within the first 15 minutes how the game will probably go, more often than not the first 15 mins of most of our games have been very frustrating.
The only thing more annoying than our current situation is twitter nerds tweeting about it like they have the solution.
FIFY.
Where is he doing that?
He’s just commenting as one would do on this very forum on what he’s seeing
He raises good and pertinent talking points.
I don’t think they are as fit as they should be.
Rice, Odegaard are constantly being subbed off. You can see it in their game that they are struggling.
Bar Forest & cup games, Havertz has played every single minute and on the other side, Merino has completed 90 mins just 3 times.
Our fullback situation is bit fucked now. Arteta’s tactics rely heavily on fullbacks. We are now in a situation where Partey has to play right back.
While Timber has done well but surely it’s not ideal to constantly switched positions.
Players are only back on paper.
