Winning games 5-0/6-0s but also showing the mettle to dig in and win tight games like today. Haven’t been this confident of going all the way probably since the early 2000s period. And to think this team is still so young. Arteta is truly building something special here.

100%. This is one of the best Arsenal teams I’ve seen in 40 years. Close to being the best now, just need that title.

Probably an outrageous take, but I think winning the league with this team is even more impressive than the Invincibles. Just for the fact that we’re dealing with Liverpool and City, not to mention that we don’t have certified WC players yet (almost there).
Based on Arteta’s reign and win rate, he should already have a title to his name for last season’s performance.
Hold up, people will point to the totals and number of draws but until anyone else even gets close to that invincible season…nothing will be more impressive for me.
Didn’t even lose the desire after the title was clinched and had some clutch goals to save it.
It will be close but the Invincibles stand above all. Not a single team has come close to match it since.
Not Liverpool, not City, not Chelsea and not Man Utd.
Having said all that, Arteta beating both Klopp and Pep in a title race making him the youngest manager to win it and his team the youngest one to do it will be a legendary achievement.

Just like 20 years ago, we are so fucking close to being the best team in the UK and Europe and this time we don’t have to torpedo our transfer budget to build a new stadium.
This time we’re building the club and not a stadium.
Even if Arteta goes in a couple of seasons, the best managers in the world will be queuing up to work for us.

What does it mean to come close? Chelsea and Liverpool both had a season where they just lost one game. That seems close?
He’s probably referring to the timing of that single loss. Neither of them lost in the final couple games after going close to matching our achievement, they lost much earlier in the season. So in that sense, you could reasonably say that they did not come close to matching our unbeaten run.

I thought Liverpool’s single loss came in the latter stages of the season?
Chelsea’s back 5 was also vastly superior to ours. 15 goals conceded isn’t even human.
That said, Invincibles is still better 
True. Though it’s quite scary to think that even if this record was repeated it’s not enough to win the league these days.
City did however get 89 points last season, but they took their foot off the gas once we fell off.
They lost on game week 28. And a further two times after that. I wouldn’t class that as close.
Wait…got.my seasons mixed up. The one loss season was gane week 21 so yea, same.

Oh I must be confusing the Chelsea teams. I thought they only conceded 15 goals that season they lost 1 game? In 2004/2005?
I was talking Liverpool there. The Chelsea loss in 04/05 came on game week 9 to…man city 
Our own one loss season in 90/91 came on game week 24.

Exactly, I think the best I can remember is Liverpool in the covid season. They didn’t lose til about gameweek 29 but ended up losing 3 (including to us) by the time it was all done.
