Beat City at the Etihad and I’ll believe.

Peaking at just the right time

Killer striker or not, we’re 16 for and 2 against in the last four games. Not too shabby.

Looking specifically at the ~month long period between Villa away (Dec 9) and Liverpool in the FA Cup (Jan 7) we scored 6 goals in 7 games.

After the break (Jan 20 - Feb 11) we’ve got those 16 goals in 4 games. Break did our thin squad good perhaps.

It was all after the Dubai trip, Arteta visited Salt Bae :rofl::rofl:

The only time we had a peak world class striker 17/18 18/19 19/20 20/21 the rest of the team wasn’t great :joy:

Imagine having a good team and a good striker :scream:

We have winnable games before City away. Hope we get the maximum

Burnley (A)
Newcastle (H)
Sheffield (A)
Brentford (H)
Chelsea (H)

Yeah unfortunately the Chelsea game will likely get rescheduled, but yes all those fixtures look favourable for us.

Does that shot conversion rate, indicate that we still need about 10 chances to score 1 goal?

If we can improve that - which I’m sure the last 4 games must be a lot higher than 11.7%, we’ll be well on our way.

No way this will happen lol

*ESR and Partey enter the chat

In any other league we’d be favourites for the title but we’re up against the biggest cheats in Europe.

The act of pressing the “return” key to even enter the chat would cause Partey’s entire body to shatter.

Yeah, it’s annoying however, it makes it all the sweeter if you pull it off.

I was really pissed we didn’t win last season and felt that even if we won it this season it wouldn’t feel the same but the more the season goes, it would actually feel even better if we do it this season because now there’s no excuses from people.l to undermine the achievement.

Last season until the City train started steamrolled through every competition from February onwards, the narrative was very much that everyone around us was shit, Liverpool had an off season, City weren’t the same and Haaland made them worse(lol), playing in EL helped us.

We are in the race with both City and Liverpool while balancing it out playing in the CL, even Villa and Spurs put up a title charge for 2 weeks.

Love how we turn around after the Dubai trip.

Team gained a lot of confidence and understanding, and now we are going into the final 3 months in a good form and building upon.

We are starting to peak at the right time.

That Liverpool game in FA cup was so important, even if we got knocked out.
The way we performed, we pretty much dominated them and they were the league leaders at the time. We could have had the game settled by HT.

That was all Arteta needed to use to motivate them.

I agree.
Even we lost the game, but overall we controlled the game much more than them.
Just a bad luck to have an own goal and things turned around.
