This is my worry as well. We’re just not scoring enough goals. 9 goals lesser than at this point last season. And it’s not that we aren’t creating chances, even though Ode is yet to get to the level he showed last season.
We are nearly at the half way stage of the season. They better find form soon enough else it might be too late.

We are joint #2 in GD (one less than #1)

Our metrics as a team will stand the test of time, unless city go on a long winning run ( certainly possible) I think we’ll be in this title race up to our eyeballs.
Today’s game proved that we are sure in this title race, a real contender.

Jeeze I honestly forgot how bad we were in 20/21. We were in the bottom fucking 6 on Christmas Day!!
It’s a testament to our board to stop the urge of sacking Arteta at that point and giving him a contract extension few months later.
Lesson learnt myself. Sometimes it really is just the players that are crap.
We had the same players in the second half of the season (plus Odegaard and ESR who got introduced into the team just around that time) but totally turned everything around.

Ffs everyone its just a loss - shit happens. We need to find our balance of attacking threat from last season combined with our control from this season. Something is definitely not working and Arteta needs to take the handbrake off - too much sideways passing and trying to walk the ball into the net, need players to show their skills. Our game has been sussed, time to change it up again ?!
If we want to stay in this title race, we have to get a proper striker in January. Half way through the season and it’s safe to say we need someone to finish all the chances we create. Either that or we start getting goals from Martinelli, Jesus, Ode etc, which isn’t happening this season.
If I were one of the lesser teams in the league, there is no reason for me to play any other way than how WestHam played today. Yes we’ll break a few teams eventually but we’ll also struggle every now and then.

You can’t be as wasteful as us in terms of touches inside the penalty area not resulting in goals if you want to win this league, I’d love to be wrong but feel we’re heading towards 20 years without a league title.
