The Russian Invasion of Ukraine

it’s totally in putins control, and war is his modus operandi

Maybe change the title of this thread to The Ukrainian Invasion of Russia lol

Day 5 of the incursion and Putin/Ruzzia have a LOT of egg on their face lol

They’ve seized a vitally important gas metering plant and they’re close to seizing Kursk nuclear power station.

Even if they end up having to withdraw, this is a huge propaganda loss for Putin

I guess Russia didn’t bomb their own pipelines after all.

:joy:

Iran = bad for supporting Russia and supplying them with weapons

UK, USA = good for support Israel and supplying them with weapons as they commit acts of genocide

Or they can all be bad? :man_shrugging:

You’re missing the point. We’re supporting the genocide in Israel by selling arms to Israel but imposing sanctions on Iran for selling arms to Russia.

I am massively against both conflicts but there’s huge hypocrisy in how things are reported and handled by these countries.

Unnecessary escalation or conflict parity? Russia uses Iranian drone tech in Ukraine after all, seems fair that we arm Ukraine to do the same?

Of course.

It’s not even escalation. It’s just fucking reasonable. The fact that the west has been making Ukraine fight with its arms tied behind its back is a total farce.

Russia has been getting missiles, drones and ammo from Iran and North Korea. We should have given Ukraine full reign ages ago because Russia won’t use nukes.

The only scenario in which Russia uses Nukes is if we drop one on them or if there are NATO troops marching on Moscow. We’ve given them way too much respect in all of this in the hopes of providing a political face-saving off ramp that Putin will never ever ever use.

Crazy how the US and UK have basically abandoned Ukraine in their defence to help modern day Nazis do a genocide.

How have the US and the UK abandoned Ukraine?

I agree with this analysis and combined with recent reports of slow Russian gains along with reports of a possible peace deal that allows Russia to keep the territories it has gained.

I don’t think you can compare Syria to Ukraine. For a start, both countries are putting a lot of resources into Ukraine and want them to win. The issue is doing so without starting a war with Russia. Personally, I think we should be doing more, but don’t agree we have in any way abandoned them.

The peace deal has also been suggested before. There is no way that Ukraine should accept any deal that involves them losing territory. They are a sovereign country and deserve to regain all of the territory that Russia has invaded, including Crimea.

Who is this Murtaza Hussain?
Does he represent both US and UK govenment?
In what position he speaks about US and UK foreign policy??

Come on, this is more shitter than Fabrizio Romano tweeting Arsenal news.

I don’t know much about UK, but for US, we are possibly facing a 3-front war (Ukraine, Middle East/Isreal, and Taiway/South China Sea). Is it normal for US to be a bit reserve and hold back?

In the end, where is NATO?
If Ukraine lost, Europe is the first facing the impact, not US.

Ukraine also receives plenty of equipment to supply their troops from multiple other nations then USA and UK. They aren’t dependent on solely the USA. Sounds like a try from the guy to shift focus to his conflict instead :man_shrugging:

He’s a journalist that has broken many important stories, just providing his analysis.

Exactly. The US is being stretched thin.

Maybe they should concentrate on Ukraines defence against a belligerent and Taiwan against Chinese aggression, instead of doing a genocide?

The Middle East foreign policy has been a disaster, aided and abetted by biased operatives in their foreign policy advisors that have links to those doing the genociding.

All it does is suck resources and American soldier lives.

Anyways you are right, the rest of NATO could do more.

European governments have been pathetic in their defence industrial expansion and support.

They all just rely on America to defend themselves.

@Ocke so I’m sure Ukraine will be fine of American support stops tomorrow?

No, the US is doing more than everyone else.

Well the US has delivered a lot of material and ammunition, no doubt. But the aid from other countries then the US is so immense, so yes I think Ukraine will be fine for quite some time. Most of this material hasn’t even been deployed to the battlefield yet.
