And also, respect for ordering it, that would take me a while, I’d be agonising over it and probably run through like 15 drafts

Damn forgot about Mos and Kweli. I’d put them on the list but they didn’t produce much as a duo. Mos Def is kind of a waisted talent because beyond Black on Both Sides he didn’t really put too much quality out. Kweli isn’t the best rapper but he’s been prolific and consistent. His projects with Hi-Tek are classics.

Biggie had :goat: level ability and Ready to Die is a certified classic.

I’ll give you a like for putting such an unpopular take out there. No surprise that I think @SRCJJ is absolutely right on both counts given my top ten lol

Gotta get involved in this although my list seems to be very different from everyone elses lol.
Different eras maybe?

Anyway, in no particular order

Eminem
Fiddy
Dre
Nelly
Ludacris
Nas
Fabolous
DMX
Lupe Fiasco
Couldnt decide on a USA 10th, so went for an English guy, try to listen to his stuff but havent even touched the surface…Kano

Ive got a sleeve tattoo which has Eminem and Fiddy in it too. Was my music growing up really and them 2 were massive for me.

still waiting for you to get back to me on whether that… uh podcast was it? With Kweli was good. From like, years ago. I think. I can’t remember.

But am salty :santi:

Unpopular opinion: No hip-hop act is amongst my top 500 artists. (Preparing to be shot dead in a drive-by now).

Dre is a great producer, less so a great MC. IMO, of course, your favourites are your favourites, no justification required lol

I went to the same school as Kano, he was about 5 years or so older than me, think he may have left a few months before I joined. But his mum worked at the school while I was there. I remember when Home Sweet Home came out in 05 and he popped down to the school to hand out a few promo t shirts for the album.

Always been my favourite guy on the UK scene, so I’m really pleased to see him now making a success of himself in Top Boy

My bad bro, I didn’t even end up listening to it myself, I totally forgot it existed haha

haha yeah I had totally forgotten about it as well

The War Report is a classic. I listen to it nearly weekly. Good shout I forgot about CNN

How old are you btw? Curious as your list looks a lot more like what my list would have looked like in my teens, names like Mos Def/Guru/Q-Tip/Common is all stuff I started listening to more from like 25 years on, probably (I’m 32 now). I’m thinking we might be from the same sort of “era” in reality.

Yer Im 36 mate, so was growing up with 50 and Eminem which then leads you to Dre and NWA

Im more of a mainsteam modern type of fan. I know Mos Def because of the G Unit links and heard a few Common tracks, but all in all most of the guys youve listed I havent heard a lot of. I havent ever really gone back and listened to the older type of music.
