She needs to do more research. Here you go:
David Cameron’s Tories (and Lib Dem coalition) wanted to reduce immigration to ‘tens of thousands’ closer to 1990’s levels (Failed). He attacked the health and safety regulations and ‘environmental guidelines’ in the country and followed through with the Deregulation Act in 2015. There was plenty of attacks on the Civil Service too calling it ‘enemies of enterprise’ and wanted to reduce it’s size. While he didn’t go after ECHR directly, he certainly wanted to scrap Labour’s human rights act.
Boring attempt that liberals do to claim the Tories have gone ‘further right’. From where I stand, remember and saw. They’ve always been like this and truthfully the country at large was very comfortable with it (Including many liberals). What’s only changed is more think they just suck at their jobs.
She probably thinks she sounds like Churchill but really she just sounds like a student.
Politicians have no sense of self awareness.
Sunak’s speech was just odd.
A reporter caught one Tory delegate leaving the hall afterwards who said “It was brilliant, inspiring” which just added to the cultish feel.
“Bringing the country together”
The price of tickets for a high speed rail link between the north and south are going to be out of the reach of most working class people anyway, so It’s going to take a bit more than a n extra bit of track costing billions to bring the country together.
Why the fuck are 16 year old lads down in Truro wearing Kentucky and Purdue merch lol
Fml I used to hang out in Truro, Cornish kids will never cease to surprise me.
There’s enough cultural identity in Cornwall to go around, you don’t need to appropriate it from fucking Kentucky and Indiana of all places
He has the cheek anyway after all his cuts that went straight after the poorest in society.
Fuck me that was gross lol
Worst thing I’ve watched all day, so full of contradictions.
Those places have culture worth appropriating?
college sports is my guess, can’t be anything else lol
But Purdue? Really?
yeah i guess if you were gonna rep an indiana college for its sports it would be notre dame or IU for the hoosiers haha
at this point, i think basically a sweater with that college type-face and then any american college is enough to pass as “cool” these days. No chance most of the kids I see these days wearing that kind of merch know anything about college sports.
In any case, we all know it’s all about the Jayhawks and I’ll die on that hill
It’s weird because you’d think that kind of ultra tribal atmosphere combined with binge drinking would really appeal to your average British young adult. If you like sports, you can watch the game. If you don’t like sports, it’s basically a party.
Just popped in to mention at this time of hallowe’en that pumpkin has a totally different meaning in states like Kentucky, Indiana, etc.
Who the fuck is she lol
They’ll be saying the same about Andy Cooper soon, if not already.
I spoke to a Tory who lives in Tamworth on Friday, he voted Labour as did many of his Tory friends. Thus busting the myth that they lost because their voters stayed at home. He was primarily disgusted at their lurch to the far right. A competent PM would have realised that playing to the 7% who vote UKIP/Reform isn’t how you win voters in the centre.
I read a BBC article this morning about the Mid-Beds vote and there were a number of regular Tory voters that ‘turned to the dark side’ at the polls too. Not to say that a lot of them probably had their tails tucked between their legs but also shows that this narrative isn’t completely true.
A lot of people from Mid-Beds were represented by a charlatan for many years and we’re fed up of the situation, so they voted for Labour.
