Alcaraz retired late in his match vs Rune, I really hope he is right for the tour finals in a week and a half.
16 wins straight now for Felix, if he defeats Rune tomorrow heāll move into the top 5.

Rune looks like the real deal, has a complete game, not sure how long the injury affected Alcaraz but he was 2nd best in that match. Those two will be have plenty of epic tussles over the next decade plus.
AA just keeps on going, heāll probably be cooked by the time the finals start though. This is like his 5th week in a row. Nice to see him finally putting it together, heās leaping above Shapo, still needs to improve his backhand but his game is very lethal especially indoors

500 events at Rotterdam and Basel + the two 250s prior to Basel.
Rune has had a big breakout year, started the year ranked around 100 now on the cusp of top 15 and still only 19.
Yeah his ascent has been impressive, I remember when it looked like the mens game would be screwed when the big four dropped off but these young guys are quality, the game will be in good hands when they have all finally hung up their rackets.

Still currently got Djokovic as the best player in the world though, if political reasons donāt keep blocking him then I think heāll regain the no 1 ranking in 2023.

No doubt about Djoko being the best, if it wasnāt for all of that including the Wimbledon points BS then Alcaraz wouldnāt have been world #1 at his young age and might not even have won the slam
When you look at the points total he got to be #1 in any other period it wouldnāt be enough, credit to him but there is a lil asterisk there

Rune gets revenge for the Basel final last week snapping Felixās 16 game win streak.
Djokovic still finishes top 8 in the world despite being banned from 2 of the 4 slams, one of the slams he wins gives no points and banned from half the masters Indian Wells, Miami, Montreal and Cincinnati.

Huge by Rune upsetting Djokovic to claim his 1st masters title at 19 years of age, didnāt think it have the balls to save off all those break points in the final game.

Seems to be all but officially confirmed yep. Only logical choice really when they seemed to change the rules on him as he landed last time, was an absolute circus the whole thing in January.
