He obviously doesn’t know what he’s talking about because Saka would start for any club in Europe but Savinho doesn’t even start regularly for Man City.

He’s started 4 of their 6 league matches and started both of their CL matches so far this season.

My point was if he’s not a regular starter for his own club, how could he be considered better than Saka who would start for any club in Europe.

Don’t know about you mate but 6 starts in 7/8 games suggests to me he’s a pretty regular starter haha

Saka is in that small pocket where he produces worldclass output without having the all-round game of a worldclass player.
Each time it is brought up, people will argue.

If you define worldclass by “How many wingers are currently better than Saka?” “If he is Top 5/10, he is world class”, then Saka is worldclass.

If you define worldclass by “He should play comparable to worldclass players like Salah, Suarez, De Bruyne”, Saka falls short.

And Saka falling a little short of older players is a very exciting prospect for Gooners. If he continues to improve at the rate so far he could become the world’s best winger in the next couple of years.

What do you think he lacks compared to others that are ahead of him?

I got your point mate, what I was trying to get across was that he is a regular starter at City so far.

Obviously, the idea that he is better than Saka is nonsense, we agree on that for sure.

Non tangible stuff tbh. I don’t know how to express it.
He doesn’t induce enough fear.
You send 10 balls outside to Saka, most of them look routine and there is nothing to worry about for opponents. (Perhaps a good thing.)

If you are setup in a certain way, you can nullify Saka. He has ever so often found a way around it but it is not as frequent as his direct competitor Salah.

That said, Salah benefits from being on the end of a buildup while Saka is often participating in the buildup. So maybe I will not giving enough credit to Saka.

These are his PL games this season and that doesn’t suggest he’s a regular starter in the league.

He started 4 of the 6, how does that suggest he is not a regular starter?!

Saka is a regular starter because he starts every game.
Savinho started a few PL games and has only played one full game, which indicates he isn’t.

If you’re going into minute detail about the wording of my post and what id or isn’t a regular starter for a player, that’s fine but I would imagine most other posters knew what I meant.

How many games someone starts determines if they’re a regular starter mate. How many minutes they play in the game has nothing to do with their status as a starter.

Savinho was also injured for nearly 3 weeks.

Ultimately - very few players are ever nailed on starters for Peps team but I’d suggest starting 6 games out of a possible 8 is a starter to me.

Exactly but the few attacking players that are, would probably be considered world class.
But a player who has only completed one PL game this season cannot be considered good enough to start ahead of Saka.

I have never once said I’d start Savinho over Saka mate. I’m just telling you that calling a guy who has started 6 out of 8 games not a regular starter is just incorrect.

As I said, Savinho gas only started one PL game, so we’ll have to agree to disagree.

What? How has he only started 1 PL game?

He’s started the first 4, been injured for 17 days and also started both their CL games.

What is it you could possibly be disagreeing about? He has literally started almost every single game he could have played for City this year.

Wild that this conversation is still happening :joy:

Now we’re in the international break, these silly conversations are only going to continue.

Sorry, I meant he’s only played one full game, which is what I said before.
