- We Are Massive
- There’s an anti-Arsenal media train so this is a ‘safe space’ for Arsenal fans who speak sense to have their say
- I’m very surprised TalkSport have organised this… I was always under the impression they were heavily anti-Arsenal.
It’s not so much they’re anti Arsenal, although they do have a few pundits that support rival clubs.
But there are more of our supporters phoning them than any other club, which is obviously good for them and means we have the biggest fanbase of their listeners.
There’s one for United with Flex, Alex Crook and another lady journalist (I think)
Yep, I used to have a look at how much traction they used to get for each club and anything Arsenal and Man Utd related used to draw significantly more people than any other club.
That gets a significant boost when either is doing bad.
Man Utd in their current state is like a cash cow for Talksport, same way we were when we were shit.
Is there though? I think you’ll find basically every other club thinks this to be the case when I think the reality is more so the fact we focus on negative stories about our club more.
Maybe, but he has a point. Mind you, I don’t think they hate Arsenal per se, it’s just that praising Arsenal won’t get you as much as engagement as saying something controversial about us.
It’s why they look for any miniscule thing to complain and draw people in, like when there was so much discussion about Arteta being too animated on the touchline.
I think there’s an element of it.
I haven’t seen 1 article from a tier 1 or 2 publication talking about Manchester City ‘over-celebrating’ for getting a last-minute draw at home, whilst chasing from behind with 1 more player on the pitch.
If there is one, I’m surprised it’s not on the front page of Google etc, but when Arsenal ‘over-celebrate’ a win, it’s like the biggest story in sports.
Because nobody actually gives a shit about City. Those 115 charges gave them more relevance than becoming Centurions.
I just don’t buy into this whole narrative of an organized, collective approach to hating Arsenal specifically. As I said, you can go on basically any opposition forum and they say similar things about the media hating them.
Negative coverage isn’t evidence of a plot within the media.
We are not that special.
I don’t doubt this is accurate but what were you looking at to determine this?
YouTube mainly.
Just seeing the rate of what teams the videos were about and how many views they pulled.
This Arsenal show is really good.
I am very surprised the kings of clickbait can do a proper serious football show.
Added to my weekly viewing. Talia is a great host aswell
I guess the difference is they’ve won the league, a lot recently.
The criticism against Arsenal for over celebrating was always that we haven’t won anything yet.
I mean I still hate that criticism but it’s not a great comparison.
Arsenal fans are so easy to wind up on twitter
I don’t blame them lol
The social media era of football is so lame.
Football fans in general are easy to wind up. It’s easy clicks/engagement for very little effort.
Ally Mcoist must be drunk again. Says Saka is not world class and dosnt start for city ahead of Savinho
He’s great fun is Ally, and in fact he is generally very warm towards Arsenal. But he’s become corrupted by Talksport’s directives to create engagement.
Fine to say Saka isn’t world class but to say he doesn’t start ahead of Savinho? It’s simply wrong but does the job of getting their phone lines buzzing.
