Super Mik Arteta

I agree, in all honesty I’d much rather see this disgusting performance today than in the first game of next season.

If you’re Mikel you’re considering alternatives for a few positions in summer, some players definitely would have played themselves out of my plans for next season’s campaign.

Really lousy display

This defeat has nothing to do with any subs. For some reason we looked like we lost the game from minute 1.
Brighton is just a really good team and we never got going at all.

They kicked the shit out of us in our own backyard. We had zero physicality out there, it was proper banter era levels of fight

Ref was shite and let them foul us at will. We were then not up to the physical challenge like we were last week…

Too many players didnt turn up today.

One is definitely Partey, he should not be considered indispensable

Glad we went out of Europe so Arteta had extra time and training sessions to produce this game plan. Got out coached today. The team look exhausted and out of ideas. That’s as much on him as it is on the players.

Didnt have the sound on but the crowd seemed a little flat no?

Yep, Partey’s name is right at the the top of that list imo, especially as he’s basically the only player we have who has been involved in a proper title race before while at Atletico.

He’s shown he’s absolutely not one to rely on mentally in crunch moments lol.

Great player, but we need to bring in someone who will challenge his starting position, as well as hopefully being a viable option alongside him, as I’m not suggesting Partey should be sold, not at all. Great player, but he’s no Paddy Vieira. Might be harsh to draw that comparison, but those are the kinds of players who win you league titles.

If Declan Rice is that guy then let’s fucking make it happen. Midfield needs some serious work this summer if we’re gonna come back stronger next season, particularly with Champions League football making a very fucking welcome return.

Ability wise he is all world level but I don’t think his mental quite matches the talent especially when its all on the line, that position is a key one to strengthen and lets be honest Partey is not the future of the team at his age and questionable durability

Like you said if Rice is the #1 target then spend the damn money and lets cook next season

Definitely sounded a little muted on the radio.

All in all. An incredible season. I honestly thought this season would be a huge scrap to get the 4. place as I saw City, Pool and Chelsea guaranteed in the top 3.

Could not In my wildes dreams imagine a title challenge this season. These last games have shown me that we were never really champions material. Champions simply do not loose 3-0 at home to Brighton no matter how well drilled they are.

Hopefully tets and edu has a clear plan who do bring in this summer. If we get the right players in we can built on this season and improve in crucial areas for next. Luckily for us most of our playerbase is in the early 20s and not 30s like SPUDS. Future is still looking ver exciting even though it ended in a sad fashion. COYG

No Saliba has destroyed our season. We don’t have anybody who can play ball like him from CB. System is slow and ponderous, much easier to press and intimidate.

This same squad with stronger depth in defence, more variety at CM and another classy forward - we will be back stronger next season.

CL football is back though. We’d have bitten hands off at the beginning of the season for that. Perspective is important at a time like this.

Obviously losing the race in this manner is underwhelming but it does paint a perfect picture of where we are.

It’s all about building on this and pushing to get to the next level.

I feel like more than ever Edu and Arteta should have very good idea of what went wrong now and what needs to be improved.

We had an excellent run pre-WC, almost perfect really. After the WC it’s been a bit of mixed bag. Lots of highs, lots of lows.

  • Think the realization of the team that they had a genuine chance at the title hit them.
  • Our performances in the EL were nowhere near our PL standards
  • There is definitely a big complex with City. Our form leading up to our games with them says it all. Even today I’m sure the City result played a massive part
  • Some of the stuff we used to get away with caught us out later on. Certain lapses in defence that we usually got away with, now we more often than not get punished for it.
  • Teams are now paying us more respect. We’ve seen lots of them raise their game against when they’re shit against others. We have to find a way around this like City do, which I feel actually use it to their advantage.

My manager! He’s definitely the right person the lead us to the promised land, even if we don’t win the league next season. Hopefully we will at least 1 trophy next season.

I mean his words are exactly what we lacked for 10 years, the ambition is there to get better continually, rather than settle for half decent.

Think wenger lost that fire but Mikel has it and fair play to the kroenkes continually backing him.

The man had other great qualities and achievements but if Wenger was managing the club right now the summer plan would be Pepe is like a new signing, ESR and Vieira need another 3-4 years of patience, and lets give some minutes to Charlie Patino and Reuell Walters to plug gaps.

I think that’s the right message. A lot has been achieved this season. For quite a few years since we dropped out of the CL getting back in felt almost like a pipe dream and we’ve done it with ease this season. This enables the club to really move forward, we know the core of a title winning squad is there and additions are coming in the summer. With a bit of space I think most people should see that this is a season that has gone very well, even if the disappointment at coming close on the title stings.

Yep, that’s exactly how he needs to approach it.

The players at this point need their confidence back and belief that they can go at it again and improve.
He needs to remind them that they did in fact really compete with this City super team that looks likely to win the treble when nobody gave them even making Top 4 a year ago.

A lot of people wrote them off last May. Majority of those people are doing the same now. Prove them wrong again. It’s simple.
