I think dumping the first 8th placed finish on him is a little unfair, he took over a team on Boxing Day that was already playing poorly.

We were on a run of 1 win in 13 games when he took over and like 11th or 12th in the league table I think. He finished 8th and won the fa cup I think that’s not bad.
The second season was properly shit tbf. By far the worse season in my memory.

You can tell we were all emotionally fucking dead at that point. Mikel took a fucking pay cut to come from Everton to play for us in this modern climate.
Captained us to an FA cup as a player and manager and it literally meant nothing to anyone.
I get it was Covid culture but it really rubbed me the wrong way. Thank fuck the home and especially the away crowd took so strongly to him. Bridging the gap between club and fans was probably his most impressive act as a young manager in my opinion. You look around right now and not many can do that.

I wasn’t a fan of taking off Jesus and Odegaard but I certainly can’t put this result on Arteta.
Players totally capitulated after the goal. Think the dudes on the pitch should take responsibility for this moreso than the coach.
