Because analyzing and being able to come up with a practical solution is entirely different. That’s why this obsession over data analysis is missing the wood for the trees. Football is a practical sport. Arteta is out of his depth here.

Now that I’ve had time to calm down and assess the situation. It’s safe to say this guy, Edu and the Kroenke’s are the worst thing to ever happen for this football club. They’re each clueless in their own right, Kroenke’s are clueless about the game, Edu is clueless in terms of signings (I mean who the fuck gives Cedric a bumper 4 year contract, who couldn’t even get into the Southampton team) and Mari an 85k per week contract, for literal bambi on ice. Arteta is just a terrible manager who has no idea what formation he wants to play, has no man management, and doesn’t know how he wants his team to play. We’re nearly 2 years into his reign and I’m still struggling to find out what our identity is.
He keep guys who Granit Xhaka, who ACTIVELY spoke out and said he wanted to leave Arsenal, he offer him a new contract and make him captain. It literally blows my mind how stupid that scenario is. He signs Willian onto a stupid contract where he’s earning near enough £200k a week, and he wants out already. Aubameyang just doesn’t care anymore. And it’s all because of the board and the manager.
I’d like to think that this club will be better after Arteta is fired but the grim reality is if we sack Arteta, the new person who’ll come in, whoever it will be, will have exactly the same problem and we’d have to wait for him to get his own players in.
TL:DR Arteta, Edu and the Kroenke’s are stupid and they suck.

What’s happening this season, us Villa and Leicester seem to be missing so many bloody players already, I think ours a short term though in comparison
It really defies all logic man. One of his excuses is that he is missing key players. Well ya know what really helps with that? Having a system that you’ve drilled into all your players so when they need to fill in due to injury, they can perform to a certain level at least.
Instead he comes up with some insane 1-3-1-5 formation with Xhaka as a single pivot and shoe horns in all of our terrible defenders

I didn’t watch the game (thankfully) but did he really have Xhaka playing as a one man pivot? When he did the same thing to Partey in the Europa League and Partey got embarrassed? Lmao at this point nothing surprises me anymore.
And maybe if he didn’t stupidly overspend on homegrown talent like it’s a football manager save then maybe we could spend a little more on depth in the squad. Instead of relying on Mari, Cedric, Holding etc etc

Yeah, I do think it’s worse here. Pretty much every match someone else is missing.
There has to be some sort of internal investigation here instead of shrugging this off as “Shit happens”. There is a pattern here.

Last season the Arteta sexuals hyped our defensive record so much and made Arteta looked like a defensive genius (if parking the bus is something worth to be praised).
3 league games into this season, conceded 9 already, and we scored ZERO. Sacrificing our offense for defense is no longer an arguement and something worth for discussion.
It is a serious crime and agenda, if anyone still wants to give him a chance.

Edit: even if that scenario does happen, it still stands that we have no hope, because he’s just not the man to take us forward.

Any supposedly big club would have sacked him after the debacle of last season but our owner and board keep rewarding him with time and money. The fact they’ve given him so much control shows how far this club has fallen. Someone like Arteta needs to reigned in.
He just looks lost out there without a clue what to do. I don’t see a potential top level manager/coach in this guy, I really don’t. Even when he gets the sack (and he will), I see a journeyman career down the table in many European leagues probably ending up in MLS or something like that by the end. I think his arrogance and stubbornness will always be his downfall.
He will probably always have a good run of results here and there but there’s always a bad run of performances and results always around the corner. And once the team know they are safe and the pressure is off they go on a run and some deluded fans will show the table of the last months or something lol.
Should have never been given the job in the first place. No doubts in my mind will get near a big job in football again as a manager.
