Exactly my point this whole season regarding Nwaneri, he’s got the talent so he should play.

This whole 'manage his minutes" thing, I don’t care about at this current moment in time. 15-20 starts in a 10-month period is not a lot of football.

The biggest question for me is, ‘what happens after Saka is back’?

Can Nwaneri still deliver the same quality output on the left? Is he effective enough in the Odegaard role?

Where does he fit in the short and long term here? Yamal is tearing it up at Barca. Same age.

No need to hold him back.

Here we go with playing Nwaneri every game 90 minutes and everyone calling for him to get a rest lol

How things change quickly.

Seriously though, I really don’t want to see Arteta going in another extreme direction, after being so super cautious and gradual about introducing Ethan into the team.

Btw I don’t know why is he now pretending as if he’s so brave about giving Ethan a chance… Let’s be honest, he would never get such a serious chance he’a getting now if of weren’t for Saka’s injury and other injuries too.

Arteta needs to learn to manage the squad better.

He was starting all the league cup games and getting some cameos in other games. Saka is our best attacking player, why would Ethan regularly play ahead of him?

He could have played a little bit more but we are talking a matter of minutes or a couple of games. I think we have managed his growth quite well so far.

He has ended up taking to the starting role very well but I don’t think everything needs to be a criticism. Why can’t it be that he was being managed well and came into his own when he got a chance?

Who said he should have been starting regularly lol?

He was getting nothing/garbage minutes in the league before Saka’s injury.

Should have been getting more minutes definitely before.

There is a conversation of him getting more minutes when Øde was out for a number of weeks.

The plan at the start of the season looked like they wanted to ease him into the first team and by no means is starting games in the carabao cup and the odd cameo - for a 17 year old academy graduate - a poor use of game time. That seems reasonable to me.

No one said that? I was saying that him having the role he does now would only ever happen in the current circumstances so it can’t really be a criticism of Arteta that it took those circumstances for it to happen because Saka is always going to be ahead of Nwaneri when both are fit and that’s the right call.

I actually think Ethan would be more than capable on the left too, so it will be interesting to see if we see him there when Saka is back (whenever that is).

I think there’s really no doubt he’s a more attacking player than Ode so perhaps we can look at another midfield option in the upcoming windows and Nwaneri becomes a bigger part of our forward rotation.

Sometimes I wonder, if he was this passionate when we were fighting for Top 4, I wonder what goes on in the dressing room the two seasons and a half where we’ve been competing for the PL.

Hes probably relaxed a bit.

Specialist in failure. Bun this prick.

Will delete this message if he wins something.

Cool, delete this message.

£14 each. Who wants one?

With such a great record at the Emirates, we might have to consider Potter at some point. :grimacing:

The lack of urgency he has this team play with especially when against teams that sit in with a low block is pathetic

So slow and ponderous, these kind of teams have our number and we make it insanely easy for them to nullify us

Next season he really needs to improve tactically, just making signings isn’t going to be enough

We aren’t a team that can hunt another down in a title race

My patience with our approach is really wearing thin. We spent 40 minutes doing absolutely fuck all.

The depth thing is no excuse for the way we play, the 11 out there today are good enough to produce more than the drab, aimless crap we have been basically all season.

Also, am I the only one who is sick to fucking death of us just ignoring opportunities off saves? Raya is constantly looking for chances with nobody to ever pass to in those situations.

Of course it is.

We had a 17 year old, a midfielder and a declining Trossard starting for us with a washed Sterling on the bench.

We’ve had the most injuries out of everyone in the league, it’s a perfectly valid excuse why we’re struggling this season.

We play like this regardless

Full strength or not we are always capable of dropping points in these kind of games

In fact it’s more than likely to be the case

Ok, so how did that affect us playing the slow, aimless sufferball crap in the first half? We spent 40 minutes doing literally nothing.

It’s not an excuse for why we don’t at least attempt to be a bit more adventurous.

That was bland as fuck. We didn’t even try to push the matter
