I will not underestimate their ability to spend.
Barcelona are pursuing Arteta in the same way they are looking into signing Mbappe.
The club and their supporters are desperate to be seen as a megaclub with huge pull, a class ahead of even other very big clubs, even if they aren’t anymore. So these stories will always drive clicks.

The team has only just started to perform at a level that Mikel can be proud of, and arguably, the squad is still not perfect and will need another transfer window or two to get there. There is no way Mikel puts in all that hard work over the last 4 years, and leaves before he can see this team realize it’s potential.

Arteta is in the middle of a project to win the Premier League and has a great working relationship with Edu. There’s no way he’s even contemplating elsewhere right now. He’s still a rookie in manager years and will defo want to learn more whilst here before he even thinks about leaving.
