Scum

What’s embarrassing is an Arsenal fan clinging onto a Top 4 finish like it’s a pipe dream mate.

I’ve said it before, Top 4 and CL participation are nice to have but they should be things that come naturally.

Every time I see someone say “oh, that was our chance”, “we’ll never make it back” and other similar comments I just cringe thinking this is what we used to say for actual titles.

It’s not a trophy mate but it’s an absolutely important tool to ensuring the club have more money and a better reputation. It’s easier to attract players when you’ve got more money in the bank and you’re competing in the biggest club competition in the world

I don’t think Man Utd fans are gutted. Most of them are excited for the rebuild.
Spurs are where we are so it’s expected.

Yeah sure they are excited for their 7th rebuild since Ferguson

Exactly, that’s the line though and I fully agree it is something a self sustainable club has almost every year.
When you start treating it like a pipe dream like some do though it really does show how far we’ve fallen.

I thought you were talking utter shit about Tielemans preferring us to Madrid but this is right up there.

Whatever man, you keep pretending that you’re actively happy we didnt make top four, whatever gets you through the day.

:man_facepalming:
You’re thinking too much into it mate, as per. Of course I’m not happy we bottled 4th. I want the club to finish as high as possible.
What I’m saying is, if you actually read my posts and understand the context, is that I can’t stand people treating it like some pipe dream or sone sort of trophy.

Here’s my take on the 4th spot.

If we didn’t have anything to play for, I would have been bored watching us play for meaningless league spots if the title win is unattainable.

Imagine there being no stake of finishing anywhere across the table in this league. No CL participation reward, no Europa, nothing.
If you finish 3rd, you get 2m over someone who finished 12th.

Experiencing a season like that would be so fucking dull.

I am glad that the 4th spot is considered a premium target if the word trophy is too far fetched for you.
I am glad this mediocre season had the excitement, anticipation & hope that we would outplay Spurs, United & others to the coveted 4th place. It made this season that much more enjoyable(until Newcastle) than the last 3-4 seasons.

Fair, should have worded it “CL doesn’t matter if you don’t compete to win it”.
City and PSG have actually made Wenger look good being in the competition for so long and only coming close to winning it once.

Doesn’t change anything. 99% of football teams on the planet will never win anything, no matter how hard they try.

If you only let teams into competitions if we think they can win, then we might as well start the CL at the semi final stage. All those non league teams in the FA Cup? No thanks, you can’t win it so you don’t get to be involved.

Wait till you hear how much I actually hate the CL concept.
If it was up to me only League and Cup winners would participate.

Cup winners? As in FA Cup and each country’s equivalent?

Yes.

Two guesses where you saw this. Those saying it probably never been to a game in their lives.

I would definitely run onto the pitch, and then turn around to see that I was alone
