Roméo Lavia

They both looked cooked last season, may well be a case of a decent to good attacking team but crappy defence in tow

Thats a team fighting for 4th at best if so

Think that’s underestimating them tbh, a shitter team last year ended up right on the brink of top 4 despite an absolutely awful start. They’ve improved the squad and we’ve seen Klopp get the best out of plenty of players already.

I see them more of a threat than United but both will be top 4 challengers. We should be a step ahead but a couple of wrong results or a less aggressive start than last year and we could be right there with them.

Liveramento going for 40m definitely hurts Liverpools negotiating power. I can’t believe they wild him for that much.

What is it with Liverpool and buying Southampton players?
They will have given them around 100m if they do buy Lavia. .

Considering all the players they’ve bought from them, in the last few seasons, it would have been cheaper just to buy the club.

The saddest part is, it probably would have been better value to buy Southampton than to shell out for Mane, Clyne, VVD and Lavia!

I guess Southampton are just really good at player sales. It’s very ballsy for a Championship club to be turning down offers for Ward-Prowse and Lavia as surely they can’t keep both in the Championship.

Liverpool will bend over.

Of course it’s worth noting that this wouldn’t actually be possible.

Well of course, if it were, we could have bought Lille for about 150m instead of buying Pepe and watch Ohismen tear up Serie A!

I know Liverpool fans will be fuming haha. They’ve done all the leg work only for Chelsea to come and steal their catch.

Can only assume Chelsea are moving on from Caciedo

Wowzers!

So let me get this straight, Chelsea had this dream that they would get Caicedo in time to play or be presented on Sunday(according to Jacob Steinberg, Fabrizio Romano, etc.) but it seems whatever they tried didn’t work out so they just hijacked main target for Liverpool(the team they play on Sunday).
Imagine Lavia being done in time and be presented or playing on Sunday repping Chelsea. :sob:

Yes Chelsea! Opt for Lavia…move on from Caicedo…please!

Lavia at 50m is much better value than Caicedo at 100m, rather they go for the latter.

Anyway just shows how often there’s a new shiny option for everyone in that position. Easy to fill, watch these two go to Liverpool and Chelsea only for another hot prospect to pop up within 12 months.

Chelsea are just a pain in the ass. No plan just pure chaos.

They are still in for Caicedo, they might sign them both, whats up with the FFP, i know they sold the likes of Havertz, Mount ETC, but with their spending last year and this summer, they should be in some kind of trouble

Gonna be suicide but I would for them to do it so that they get in deeper shit that they’re in.

Anyway, they’re signing Tyler Adams as well. It’s gonna be Lavia or Caicedo.

Ben Jacobs is top tier Chelsea source…

Quite clear the Lavia bid is

a) to wind liverpool up and prevent him joining them before they meet
b) a backup option for caicedo
c) a chance to show Brighton they have options

Although I wouldn’t be ecstatic as a chelsea fan if they ended up with Adams and Lavia for around 70m. Neither are at the level to be starting and leading a midfield for a top 4 chasing team yet. Lavia would be a great backup but the price is still steep, just better than Caicedo for 100m.

Chelsea have signed or rather spent money on 20+ players in 12 months under the new owner. With some chunky fees in there. Something is off here, apart from a clueless owner obviously.

It took us 3 Seasons to sign the same volume of players. Including randoms for the academy.

Lavia is no where near Caicedo’s level. £50m is a hugely inflated price, but I hope that Chelsea pay it and move on from Caicedo. Caicedo is probably worth £80m in todays market, but Brighton, and fair play to them, are going to demand a top fee for the player.
