Chelsea losing Kante, Kova, Loftus Cheek and Mount with Lavia and Adams coming in would be one of the biggest downgrades to a midfield in Premier League history.
I rate Lavia but him, Enzo and Gallagher stinks.

With Havertz gone as well it means they’ve lost almost half of their starting line up and replaced them with players who haven’t played at top PL clubs.
This looks like a window where the owner, rather than the manager, is making most of the decisions, so it’s hardly surprising that Pochettino doesn’t seem that happy with their transfer business

If Arsenal really wanted Lavia, this would be the time to act. Could steal a march on both sides and also give him the Arteta sales pitch as a bonus

A ten minute phone call with Tets and a 4+5m loan offer with option to buy for 35m should do it. We are Arsenal.
Lavia is who I’d want as the long term Partey replacement.
Chelsea will offer him and Southampton silly money though to get this done.

The issue with that is convincing the player. Doubt he wants to play Championship football this season when there are so many PL sides interested in him.
Partey, Rice, Jorginho covers our 6 position handsomely. There’s no room at the inn.

He could always go on loan until January when we finally sell Elneny to Turkey.
If he’s got any nous about him that’s exactly what he should do. Augment and cement a big club attitude during a six-month loanback and build towards a peak to explode at the carpet come January.
Even if this bloated to 40-45 mil, it’d be a killer move by Mikel.

Tbf it’s not totally up to him. I think it’s reasonable for Southampton to be like “we want him back for the whole year so we can get promoted.” Imagine if he is incredible for the first six months and then gets recalled in January. I guess it would give them plenty of time to scout a replacement.
