I don’t doubt the credibility but What is the purpose of this analysis & who is the audience?
I assume they want to come up with some algorithm that would determine the latent value of the talent pool within each club and how it stakes up against other clubs.
The clubs’ on field asset would be currently valued as such. So City & United have 1 billion in player asset based on their algorithm.
It doesn’t necessarily mean these two have the best squad.
Such calculations are speculative so inherently they are flawed but nevertheless a good reference.
But what can we gain out of knowing the speculative asset value with each club?
Who will consume it and benefit from it?

Value of players is very closely tied to quality. If the Premier League table finished in that order, no one would bat an eye lid.
It’s all information at the end of the day. I’ve seen some use these figures (Guendouzi’s value for example) to boost an argument.
United fans have another stick to beat Ole with etc.

That was a year ago though, just cos we paid 45 million for him then it doesn’t dictate what his value will be a year or two down the line particularly as he hasn’t exactly done well here so far.
25-30 seems a little low to me, tbf, so not sitting on your point.
