Man that period that Morientes was at Madrid 97-04 there were so many top Strikers. It’s crazy that he was Raul’s partner upfront for so long, we’re talking Ronaldo, Henry, Trezeguet, Vieiri, Batistuta, Inzaghi, Bierhoff, Bergkamp, Del Piero, Schevchenko, Crespo, Adriano etc… insane the amount of top forwards there were in the game.

Yeah I remember when Fowler first burst on the scene, the guy was an absolute beast. Scoring from all over the place, and clocking some serious numbers. His Coke snorting celebration had me cracking up for days, man’s where trying to copy it as kids and not even fully knowing waa gwan 
but yeah some real talent and real exciting characters in the game.
@Gio was thinking the same thing bro when I was putting them names down! Craziest thing is those guys were getting like 20 goals a season against defences that had Prime Maldini, Thuram, Cannavaro, Nesta, Montero, Zanetti, Zambrotta, goalkeepers like Toldo, Pagluica, Peruzzi etc…

Football over uses that beautiful game title but that’s very worthy here.

For anyone interested in sports photography, my mate is a professional sports photographer and this was from our game against Man City that he got published in the Sun.
He works for Norwich as their official photographer but he also works freelance and has done all the big tournaments like the World Cup, CL, FA Cup final and PL games.
After the World Cup in Russia, where he went to all the England games and had several pictures in the national newspapers, he said he only broke even because of the travel expenses and so many people at games with phones that can also get decent quality pictures.
He also does the royals, as well as celebrity photography, and before lockdown he only got around £500 for a photo that was published in three different national newspapers and for which he had to wait in his car overnight to get the photo.
