as the game is going to the final month, too many players have that kind of speed already… so a 88 rating Owairan is pretty much disposable.
Something Adams did, that no other player is likely to repeat, is to win the league title in three different decades as captain of his club.

He was just so consistently good.
Even Ferguson said that Adams was the best defender who’d never played under him. I don’t like Whiskey Breath, but that was some admission from him.

Easy to see why some were eager to hit him with a challenge if he was gobbing off all game
I’ve seen matches at Highbury where there’s grass in the corners and the rest of the pitch was either mud or sand.
But these pitches suited us just fine with Graham as manager because the ball wasn’t on the ground long enough to get wet.
