Yeah, the Eddie move was weird considering Mateta is already there(surprising he hasn’t got a move yet).
They don’t play with two up front so Eddie has been shoved to the wing a few times.
Mind you, he hasn’t helped his case much with all his injuries.
Yeah, I touched on this in my following post and agree Eddie was a much worse buy but was also done pre-FA Cup win. I think Johnson will suit their style of play but it’s odd they didn’t really invest in the summer to build on that FA Cup win and the upcoming UECL campaign which was apparently Glasner’s issue too.
I saw what he said and I couldn’t believe it was real.
Essentially he said that they saw him in training and they realised he’s not worth the money they’d pay for to make it a permanent transfer.
Take into account this lad is supposedly one of England’s brightest young players and they think £35m is too much.
Elliott’s confidence must be in hell after hearing that and Liverpool must be livid.
Unless injuries did something to him, Elliot is a good purchase - not sure why Villa are reluctant.
Players should disallow clauses that stops them from getting playing time.
Slot barely used him last year and pushed him out the door so he might agree with Emery’s evaluation.
He’s going to be 23 in April, not really a young player and probably just not good enough for a big team. If I recall he had mainly Bundesliga interest last summer before Villa agreed to the loan.
Villa have really stitched the lad up.
Apparently he can’t play for a 3rd club in Europe this season as he already played for Liverpool at the start before joining Villa.
So he’s either going back to Liverpool and barely play or go to a club outside of Europe where they can find a loophole for him to play.
I mean, it won’t happen but it would be hilarious if they didn’t do their research, signed him on loan, only to find out he’s not actually eligible to play and he’s stuck doing fuck all for another 6 months.
He should sue the clubs involved in fucking up his career like that.
It’s unfair on him and FIFA/UEFA/Whoever should make adjustment to rules to allow him to play.
At the very least, he should definitely sack his agent.

Decent shot stopper, poor with his feet. I find it surprising that he’s still with the NT alongside Alisson and Ederson, even after going to Saudi, and even after ending up as backup so far this season.
