It goes both ways.
Strasbourg gets access to some of the top talents in football due to this model. I know they won that cup a few years ago before they were bought by BlueCo but we’re talking about a team that used to linger in second division and fight for survival whenever it got promoted.
Now they’re a top half team in Ligue 1 that’s fighting for Europe every year.
Ask big French clubs like Bordeaux and Saint-Etienne how they feel to be in the second division currently.
Nah fuck that. I’d have nothing to do with a club anymore if it was nothing more than a plaything piece in a puzzle like they have become. Basically the people running the show there are all puppets.
If they like it good luck to them and that’s their choice but the game is soulless enough.

They’re just training the French fans up for their eventual transfer to Chelsea on a reverse payment deal, where Chelsea receives 100% of Strasbourg’s ticket revenue in return.
