Olivier Giroud

I think England should go very close because of goal scoring potential and a top striker.
Then they have had this before. Technically the newer generation Sancho, Raheem, TAA and Grealish are above the level we have produced on the ball before.
There’s nothing uniquely great on tactics in present day football for England to be afraid of. The only thing they lack a bit like Belgium is pedigree and questionable belief. The Euros is not the world cup and the pressure a notch down.
Criminal if they don’t go really close.

Henry only got 51 in 123 games for France. Does that show how much better a playmaker Bergy is over Zidane or how great Wenger was? Or both?

It probably reflects how much English betting money has gone in over them reckoning England is the actual favourites. Michael Watson was the betting favourite over Mike McCallum, for the same reason and that’s equally unlikely.

Incredible that he went the whole World Cup without scoring for them even though they won it :joy:

Like how he went on a 16 game goal drought in the season Ozil got 19 assists.

He’s a flat track bully that scores in all the meaningless friendlies against Serbia and Andorra haha

Neither. At EURO 2000 and World Cup 2002 he was still used as a winger. Dugarry and Trezuguet were their strikers.

It’s a fucking travesty that this guy is anyhwere near Henry :rofl:

Be interesting how Xg explains this one.

I’m with @Stroller I’m rather bullish about England for this up and coming European championships.

As for Giroud, amazing to think he could become France’s all time leading scorer, really is truly astonishing.

Only a few games and that’s it.
Didn’t work out because Poldi was lack of movement, AND, also his 2 wings were Theo and Big Forehead.
They are not players that could make decent passes.

I am only interested if he did fuck the whore in the hotel room before Liverpool’s (or other team?) game.

Fucking England we’ll send them homeward to think again. I’m looking at 9 points here.

That sounds like the title of a crime drama involving a bald cop and his partner who is a native American.

If we take this shitter back I’m deleting my OA account.

I don’t wanna see him, Ramsey, Walcott or Ox in an Arsenal shirt ever fucking again.

If it’s a choice between you and Giroud, I’m picking Giroud

I think for six months or whatever he’d arguably be more useful to us than Lacazette is. We could bin off Laca entirely, move Auba central and then make do with back ups of Nketiah and then Giroud for the odd final twenty minutes when we want a plan B.

But I actually think we need to move away from the “oh he’s a slight improvement on what we have so that makes it a good transfer” way of thinking as that leads you to sign shit players on the basis that they’re slightly less shit than what you currently have, which isn’t going to transform us into the side we want to be.

14 - 17 was terrible for a lot of reasons. But those four players and how overrated they were as one of the more up there.

@JakeyBoy the awful thing about this is that it isn’t arguable. Giroud would be more useful than Lacazette even if Auba is used as a left winger (Auba can move around/off him in that case whilst Giroud holds the ball). Lacazette has become a real disappointment.

I actually considered it for a moment and then was disgusted with myself for even doing so. What the actual fuck is wrong with this club that this is even something worth thinking about.

We couldn’t be more fucked as a club if this is considered.
Be an admittance of not having a clue. Would it improve us no. How could it?
We create nothing. We have our best forward on the wing. So we bring in a tall striker with no pace.
What’s his hold up play suppose to do. Who does he bring into play from a none productive midfield.
