I believe we signed him as an alternative to Saka. Hes quick, direct and wants to get round players.
Saka is different in that he wants to always come back inside on his left foot.
Noni’s attack minded play is a massive benefit and will help us in the now and long run.

My tolerance for his performances are oddly very high though.
Crazy he’s scored our best goal this season.
When you sign a player that was busy fighting like a rat with his teammates to take a penalty the season prior, your ‘non-negotiables’ are clearly.. very negotiable after all.
If he ends this EPL season with 0 goals and 0 assists, he should be sold immediately.

Work to maximize the end product must be a priority. Does everything very well but can’t impact in any way.
We signed him based on his 1v1 ability, and top tier dribbling / take on metrics etc.
And I’m sure we looked at his end product and thought, we just need to unlock his composure and he will explode.
Just like Gyok, it’s too early to say this guy is a failure. He does so many good things, absolutely kills his fullback…he just needs to slow down the last action. He’s got 3 goals in 4 CL apps where he does get a bit more time / space, including a vital goal against Bayern.

Madueke has played a grand total of 6 matches worth of PL football. This rhetoric about his goal and assist record in the PL is very selective.
He’s got 3 in 4 in the CL and bagged two assists in his solitary FA Cup outing. But obviously saying he’s got 3 goals and 2 assists in 5 games he’s actually started in is much less a headline than 0 goals and 0 assists in 13 games!!

I’m still happy enough with him as he is one of the few that will actually take people on and make things happen.
That’s probably why the data guys thought he would be a good signing.
