I just cannot understand what we’ve seen in Madueke that makes the club think - let’s give Chelsea £22m more than they paid for him.
He’s not a left winger and we saw with Havertz that trying to repackage someone is a huge risk.
Just not getting this deal. This should be one of them market opportunities where Chelsea have decided he doesn’t work for them and they’d take £30m and suddenly we’ve got a good backup for Saka and an adequate backup for left wing.
Not a £50m + add ons type deal.

The good relationship with Chelsea is only good because Arsenal bend over backward in the valuation of the player.

and you know full well that if he was one of ours and Chelsea was after him, there is no chance in hell they would bid £50ms for him… and then we would reject it and want more like they have just done.

Dembele has been publicly criticised and left out of key games from Enrique .
He’s set to win the Ballon d’Or this year and is one of the hardest working forwards in the game currently.
It’s not black or white. Some players need some pushing, that incident you mentioned didn’t stop Maresca from using him later on.
