I like their style

Good enuff for me. Move him to the players section.

Barcelona are honestly just a massive joke. I hate how players have such an affinity for these dickhead Spanish clubs.

How does an 8 year contract run to 2035? Unless it’s an additional 8 years?

I can’t knock the decision but the contract length is ridiculous

Just catching up but unless I’m mistaken, Bilbao beat everyone to it and dropped this out of the blue.

As much as I think Nico should be playing for a bigger club, this is the type of stuff that would have me ecstatic had it happened say with Fabregas.

Big :fu: to Barca.

You can’t knock the loyalty. Fair play to him.

We can’t criticise him when we would love Saka for example to do the same

Would be nice to see him at the Emirates…Cup in a few weeks.

Lol

You gotta be kidding me :arteta:

Barca :arteta4:

I doubt it’s a loyalty thing.

He wouldn’t go so far in the negotiations if he never wanted to join them, he would have refused the transfer much earlier in that case, at the start basically.

It’s a money thing. It’s either his demands not being satisfied or Barca’s payment structure towards Athletic (probably not being able to pay the clause over 10 years or so lol). Or both.

Honestly it’s just money and lack of ambition in my eyes. He’s been flirting with Barcelona for years now, he’s probably come to the realisation that Barcelona cannot afford him and he’s tied himself down to another 8 years of crazy money at his hometown club.

Just seen @Pires post and I pretty much echo his sentiment.

Players who are actually loyal to their club refuse these kinds of offers right away so you barely even hear about them (usually many years later).

As said, they wouldn’t be negotiating for a month now if he loved Athletic so much. Money was obviously the obstacle in the end (in one way or another).

Don’t care. His numbers in La Liga are pretty much what Martinelli is giving us in a much better league.

And yeah, he’s made sure he’s ruled out of a move to one of the big clubs. That’s the level of his ambition, can call it loyalty I suppose, just like Kane and Spurs :ramsdale:
